This was by far the best tour we took while in Costa Rica, thanks to our incredible guide, Jorge. Jorge planned a day like no other for us. He was kind, humorous, polite, respectful, fun, and quite knowledgeable. We experienced the best of Costa Rica, truly la pura vida!!!! We saw gorgeous waterfalls, unique birds and animals, and other amazing flora and fauna. We enjoyed comfortable, well paced hiking, an exhilarating waterslide, thrilling ziplines, soothing thermal pools, marvelous rejuvenating mud, delicious food and so much more!!!! Jorge also played some great music and is truly a rock and roll aficionado. Jorge treated us like rock stars and with our sincere gratitude for his efforts, we enjoyed a tour of a lifetime. We highly recommend this tour, especially with Jorge. He is SIMPLY THE BEST!!!!

2 hours driving from your Hotel: Upon arriving at the entrance, you will start out on a 2 hour moderately difficult hike in the park. Along the trail you will walk through the rainforest and along the Celeste River, where you can observe one of nature’s most intriguing phenomenons. After this beautiful site, you will continue hiking to where two brooks merge together, turning clear water into a divine hue of turquoise that makes Rio Celeste. After hiking, you will head to another part of the river outside of the park where you will get to swim in the blue waters!! This is where you will often see sloths and other wildlife. This hike is a fantastic opportunity for healthy exercise and unforgettable experiences in one of Costa Rica’s most unique hidden gems. Organic Farm – Sloth and Frog Sanctuary Take a tour on a rural organic farm! You will be taken on an inspiring and educational walk

We booked an ATV and snorkeling tour with Carlos and it was so much fun. He picked us up at our hotel, brought us to his location and we rode semi-automatic ATVs about 45 minutes to a secluded beach (we were the only ones there). Provided us with snorkeling gear and we snorkeled for about 40 minutes. The fish and sites were stunning. We then rode back and he deposited us back at the hotel. Don’t plan on going anywhere after your ride unless you don’t mind being dirty. You get SUPER dusty on the ATVs.

The scenery is amazing and this is a great stop-off between La Fortuna and Monteverde (which is how we did it). I would highly, highly recommend doing that. What I would not do is get a guide. Our guide was fine, and had a few interesting tidbits, but this price did not even include admission (which was a rude surprise when we got there - that should really be clearer in the description), making the total cost pretty expensive for what could have easily been a self-guided tour. (Note: the one exception is if it will be a busy day and you can’t get there early as they do limit the number of people who can enter the park at a time and we were told that the guides are given preference. On a weekday in late March, there was no issue with that).

We did the sloth sanctuary as the last part of an all day tour. Johnny was our guide and walked us around the property and pointed out in many different sloths, frogs, birds and even toucans! He was so knowledgeable about all of the different species and it was very fun and interesting to chat with. We had such a great time here and loved being able to see a sloth in Costa Rica! Everybody should make a trip to the sloth sanctuary after or before going to Rio Celeste!
