Just 10 miles east of La Romana lies the fishing town of Bayahibe. Here, divers will find spectacular coral formations and three shipwrecks: the Atlantic Princess, St George and Coco. In the national park, nature enthusiasts will find lagoons and wildlife, including a variety of birds. There is much to do, but the inviting, soft white-sand beaches are perfect for travelers seeking relaxation.

We had a great day touring the turquoise waters of the Dominican Republic on this first class boat. The crew and Joy all wanted to make sure we had the best time and were very communicative when booking. We had an on-time pickup at our hotel that brought us to the meeting point where we were met by Joy right away and given an overview for what to expect for the day. There is a lot of time to enjoy the boat and lay out on the nets at the front of the boat, and also a good amount of activities such as snorkeling and exploring Soana Island for an hour. The meal included was delicious! You wont regret booking this excursion, many of the other tours we saw were crammed with people and did not look nearly as relaxing as this tour. It can have up to 30 people, but we only had 10 people on our tour.

Our National Park of the East private nature tour gets you away from the hustle and bustle and into pristine forest with the best local nature guides around. Our 1.5 hour nature walk takes you through one of the most pristine forests in the Dominican Republic and visits several caves, one of which you can go swimming in. Once in the area we set out on a light hike into the beautiful National Park of the East, a vast dry tropical forest and one of the largest parks in the country. We spend the morning exploring the trails and then swimming at a spectacular cave just off trail. I took two tours with Manny of Exlora Ecotours while in the Dominican Republic in early February. One was a solo private birding tour and the other was a visit to two rivers and waterfalls with my wife. Manny knows his birds! I saw many of the indigenous species and he was very good at knowing when and where to find them. My wife and I enjoyed the waterfall walks very much. We had lunch at a very nice lodge and the food was great.

Words are not enough to describe how amazing this experience is, you have to live it to fully understand it. The crew onboard is absolutely amazing (professional, kind, helpful, funny), they know all the best spots to visit, and they cook delicious food too! The catamaran is a real beauty and very comfortable. From tropical colors to pristine beaches (without forgetting improvised domino games of course), the 2 days we spent onboard the Quetzal were truly magical and unforgettable.

Before you go to any excursion in Punta Cana or Bahayibe check if your agency works with this boat company COSTA ROMÂNTICA (romantic coast). For me and my friends was NIGHTMARE COST, the worse excursion I have ever done in my life. In 12 hours we only spent around 2 in the island. The boat was very slow and the staff incredibly nasty and arrogant. The worse was the music, not only bad but extremely loud. Almost everybody was complaining about the absurd loud sound, but the crew was just ignoring. Was almost 3 hours to go and 3 to come back listening a very loud and poor quality sound. Costumer service and satisfaction was TOTALY ignored. It was suppose to be a relaxing Caribbean excursion, but instead was a torture. A boat terrible experience louder than a disco (and I love discos) The food in the island horrible and without higiene. And there is no Corona care at all in that place. So, AVOID any trip with this company, check before what boat company your promoter or agency travel will use and run away if it is this one. I cannot say if all the “Saona excursions” was like these, but we hated. The island is beautiful but not amazing for all this bad experience. If you really wanna visit I totaly recommend renting a private boa and bringing your own food. In the end of the day we spent money, time, patience and were totaly exposed to corona virus risks for a place and experience that was not worth it.
