The Mall Bangkapi is far out of downtown Bangkok, so it will not be a tourist spot, unless you are a mall junkie. If you are, then make the trip (by taxi, and not on weekends) because it is a huge mall with hundreds of shops, restaurants and a big food court. It spans 5 floors and and all shops from your favorite mall shop to many smaller independent shops all at much cheaper prices than downtown Bangkok. All the USA restaurant chains are located there along with many Thai themed restaurants. It has a huge Gourmet Market and a large selection of prepared food kiosks. If driving, there is a garage attached. The mall is exceptionally clean and well organized, but getting lost is possible due to its size. It is a good meeting point for friends that live in that area who may not feel comfortable coming into downtown Bangkok. We met friends there and was happy to see the mall, but most malls have what they do.

If you are looking for a halal foods in bangkok i think this market is the right place to go. Very easy access via boat canal from pratunam pier to rhamkamhaeng area. You may check out the piers and the bangkok boat canal online for more details.
