Recommend a tour of Jewel Cave while in the Augusta/Margaret River Area. Interesting and beautiful formations and guide Richard was very informative with both his geology and knowledge of the cave and it's history. Tour went for an hour, there were a few hundred steps but no rush. Group limited to 30 people. Ours was much less than that. Recomnended

Hire wetsuits, and all the gear from east Allendale general store. Friendly staff, clean and new gear, well priced. The water is freezing but when suited up you could stay in for hours....though you can only stay in for 1 hour. You need to book your snorkel or dive with parks SA. and you book a time slot as a minimum of 2 people can go and a max of 6 each hour. Wonderful experience, gentle current takes you through the 3 ponds/sinkholes. Great clarity. A must do

The caves are well worth a visit. We toured the stunning Orient cave on the 1st day, stayed the night in a family room (very comfortable), had dinner in the Jenolan House restaurant (outstanding lamb shanks & desserts to die for) & toured the popular Lucas cave the next day. We also did the river walk (in the blue lagoon I 1st thought the bubbles that float regularly to the surface were turtles but we soon learnt that they are in fact a family of resident Platypus - very cool!) There's also a self-guided cave you can visit called the Devil's coachhouse - a decent walk not for the faint hearted but there's also a lookout you can reach without having to venture down the side of the mountain for the entry to the massive cave. You'll find it along the six foot walking track. Will definitely be returning with swimmers for the waterfall lagoon & to tour the many other caves.

Great place set up by a local family station holders. Sealed road all the way off the highway. Great camping, caravan park and glamping tents available. Lots of wild life, the Lava Tubes are well worth a visit. There is a gift shop, restaurant and bar. We dined at the restaurant and the meals were fantastic. Great view from restaurant with outdoor wood fire on cold nights. Lots of other activities also, campfire sing songs, walks and hikes.

Lake Cave

Lake Cave is a stunning crystal wonderland; the only cave in the Leeuwin-Naturaliste Ridge with a permanent lake. The water acts as a mirror, reflecting the myriad of delicate crystal straws above. The cave is renowned for the ‘Suspended Table’ – a massive calcite decoration, weighing several tonnes, that hangs from the ceiling and almost touches the surface of the lake. The precinct features an interpretative centre, retail and cafe facilities. Located 20 kilometres south of Margaret River.
