It is the second most populous town in the Midlands Region with a population of 21,349 in the 2016 census, and is considered the commercial capital of the Midlands.

This is a beautiful hotel in an idyllic setting overlooking lake and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Staff are very professional and friendly. Room was spacious and very comfortable. Dined in the bar and food was delicious. Extensive selection of food for breakfast. Glasson village is a couple of miles away and is so picturesque and welcoming. Highly recommend.

It is a lovely walk next to the Shannon river. You can even get the chance to feed the swans and the ducks. You can sit down on the benches and just relax. I think it is great for families with babies,toddlers or older children. Or even for a romantic walk with your love.
