The best available Specialty lodgings to stay near Pembrokeshire

April 24, 2023 Claudia Navarrete

The diminutive Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, a dramatic area of 225 square miles in southwest Wales, was set aside as a national park in 1952 and comprises a large portion of the Pembrokeshire coast and its islands and the moorland hills of Mynydd Preseli. Rugged cliffs and coastal rock formations are home to boisterous populations of seabirds, porpoises, whales, seals and dolphins. Cycle, hike or sea kayak around the spectacular coastline. Bird watching and rock climbing are also popular.

Smart B&B with excellent service

Reviewed By B3001XFstevel

Great stay here for B&B chose room at front with sea view down the street, very peaceful part of town within a few minutes walk of dozen's of eating places, and only about 10- 15 mins walk from station. Proprietor was very welcoming and cooked an excellent breakfast each morning. High standard of food and room décor with many bonus features such as fridge, tea/coffee making facilities with fresh milk!

A very positive experience

Reviewed By Richard J

Stayed after an afternoon ferry crossing and was concerned our late arrival might cause a problem. Prior to landing we received a text from the owner giving directions for our arrival and he met us as we arrived. First class service thank you. We were able to park outside the room to the rear of the main building. The room was spacious clean with ensuite. A very comfortable, quiet nights sleep. Breakfast was cooked to order, no problems. Wifi worked well. The hotel is set in a dip off the main road in very pleasant surroundings. Would be a good location for exploring the local area. Easy to find just turn left by the miniature lighthouse 5 minutes from the Ferry port .

Memorable visit

For my first visit to wales, ive got to say this BB made my stay! after a long 5 and half hour journey. Me and my partner were greeted by the owners daughter buddy with open arms! it instantly put us at ease and we knew we chose the right place to stay. The house has beautiful architecture and it has a very homely feel with lots of lovely art work on the walls from the owners travels. We stayed in the Cwtch room, we loved the green decor and it was super clean. The bed was super comfy! great sheets which make you want to stay in bed. In the morning we had fresh coffee and breakfast alfresco style, the back garden is lovely and a pleasure to relax in. Everyone is super accommodating and helpful :) Overall a massive recommendation to anyone visiting pembroke!

St Katharine's House

Great find

Reviewed By familyD10

We stayed for just one night and what a pleasant surprise. A beautiful building in pleasant surrounding, with a easy stroll to Milford haven marina. The house is furnished in keeping with the buildings age and its is beautiful, with a lot of attention to detail and spotlessly clean. Sarah is a great host and clearly cares a great deal that her guests have a pleasant stay. We didn't get the room we had booked but the alternative was lovely and only for one night so we didn't mind. It had an adjoining bathroom (rather than integral en-suite) which would have put me off but its was only for our use and we didn't see any other guests on our floor so don't be put off by this it was very private and very well appointed. Breakfast was lovely, the breakfast room was lovely and the table set better than most 5 star hotels. We had chosen breakfast the night before , we chose the Full English but were still given fruit, yogurt granola before hand. It was all excellent and I wouldn't hesitate but to recommend it. We had a lovely stay.

The Lobster Pot

Best place around!

Reviewed By timjstark

In Marloes, there is only one place to have dinner, but it is an amazing place! The Lobster Pot doesn’t have the seafront location, but that is the only thing that it is lacking. This family run pub is a welcoming, inviting locale with the ever so friendly Alan behind the bar, his daughter Sophia as head chef, and his other daughter Charlotte as waitress extraordinaire. It is not as fancy as The Griffin, but it doesn’t need to be as this place has a wonderful heart to it that makes everyone feel at ease. The lovely garden out back has ample space to enjoy warm evenings and the indoor dining area is as comfortable as one’s favorite spot in your own home! While hiking on the Pembrokeshire Coastal & other local trails, I dined here three nights. Each time, the food was served promptly, piping hot, and expertly plated or displayed and uniformly delicious! That is the true beauty of this place. Each of the three family members plays their role to perfection. If you are ever around Marloes, the Lobster Pot is where you should dine; it is a place that I will always remember fondly!

What a great spot

Reviewed By 303declans

Because of covid a large group of us decided to book the globe out, to celebrate many missed events, birthdays, weddings, all sorts. They were fantastic, totally left us to it and every thing we needed was there and the place is stunning, the two hot tubs were perfectly set up for our arrival, and when I said we are going to bbq the first night all the things we could have needed were left out so I didn’t have to poke around for them. It was so well equipped and was a perfect base for us to have fun. Massive thanks to Beth who helped us with all aspects I would definitely recommend the globe as a group. Thanks again
