Double booking, holiday ruined
Reviewed By HarryOscarAfter booking a room with private pool at Blue Moon Resort a few months in advance (it was one of the only places which offered this in Zanzibar), we made the hour and a half drive from Stonetown. I had confirmed before leaving with them that we would be arriving. After a rough journey, we arrived to find that they could only offer us that room for 2 nights and then we would have to move to a normal room for the rest of the stay, but they would give us a free massage to apologise!!! Bear in mind that I had made it clear in advance that privacy was of the utmost importance, one of us is recovering from surgery and was not comfortable being in public wearing swimwear. The manager finally came out reluctantly and spoke to her busines partner, but there was absolutely NO chance they were going to give us the booked room for the stay. We made the point that we were already there, which gave them 3 days to find a solution for the other people, but it was a NO. My thinking is that they had booked the room for family or friends of the owners and put them ahead of paying and booked guests. This can be the only explanation. We left immediately and went to stay somewhere else, we asked for a full refund. Thank you owner of Blue Moon Resort for ruining our trip of a lifetime. Do not trust them!

Reviewed By laura_kuenzlerBeuatifully designed rooms with or without kitchen available. Bathroom and kitchen are small but just fine. If you want to enjoy Paje on budget, this is a very nice option! There is also a restaurant within the residence. If you love italian food, you should defenately give it a try.

Friendly local home stay
Reviewed By oaky880We have spend a very good time in Jambiani. Instead of two nights, we ended up staying at Moringes place for almost a whole week. We liked the calm village and his family run home stay so much, that we couldn’t leave the place and asking instead to stay for one more night day after day. Not to forget to mention the turquoise beach next to it, which we consider as our favorite of whole zanzibar. We had very interesting conversations with Moringe and his cousin Mustafa about culture and life. They were very helpful and showed us around in his village and even went sailing with us on a local dhow. The breakfast prepared by Samira was perfect and came with lots of fresh fruits. We cooked several times on our own but if you like, Moringes brother can prepare you some delicious traditional food. We realy felt like home. I would say: we came as guests and went as friends.

Reviewed By Tally MWhat an amazing place! My boyfriend and I had an amazing experience staying at Raffia's resort. highlights: Staff are super respectful. Clean and new accommodations. The room is beautiful and super cozy. The pool is new and the water is always clean. There is so much open space and the area is beautiful and very green. food- breakfast is amazing! Pancakes are well done and the toast were perfectly done. We also had 2 curries that were delicious. Room- Couldn't be happier with the room. We stayed in 2 other hotels in Paje and Jambiani and I can say without a doubt that Raffia is the best. Super secure. Cozy and clean! The staff are helpful and friendly.

Coral House is set back from Villa Bluu in Jambiani. There are 2 triple rooms. One has its own kitchenette where you can prepare your own food. The studio also has its own balcony and view of the ocean while the triple deluxe has a shared balcony with views of the forest and ocean.
