Sala Samui Choengmon will have you smiling (like all the staff) from the moment you arrive to the moment you depart. it is not the best hotel on the island but for value for money it is Nº 1. The dining was excellent (breakfast, lunch and dinner). The beach was clean as was the sea. The proximity of the pool and dining to the beach made it a joy to use all three. But the main highlight was the staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The villa we stayed in was not the most modern, but the facilities (especially outside bathroom) meant the experience was enjoyable. We are returning to Samui in a few months and there is only one hotel we will staying at again.

There is a small town that the road runs through with a couple of dozen restaurants, bars, convenience stores, ATM, currency exchange, tour counters and shops to serve both local and tourists.

Reviewed By Megx91We didn’t stay at the hotel but came here for evening drinks on a couple of occasions. The cocktails are amazing (especially the signature ones served in a coconut) Lovely evening setting and friendly service. They also have romantic tables set up on the beach for dinner.

Location is quite and beautiful. Shower water is a bit slow but understandable. The resort is not attached to the beach but 5 min walking distance. Anyway highly recommend to stay.

What a wonderful experience
Reviewed By CarlG1145During the Covid crisis we found ourselves on Ko Samui for 5 weeks and booked into PS Thana Resort as we had been there before and knew it was and is a lovely place. Just picking up this again as I left it unfinished. We travelled back to PS in February 21 and still received a fantastic welcome. The owners have kept the place open and carried on employing their staff even through these harsh times. If you get the chance you should go and support them too. It isn't charity, this is the best beach on the Island!

Reviewed By ademe8721My husband and I stayed for one night as the hotel is located fairly close to the airport. The pictures online must be from years ago, because they are deceiving and the hotel is in a state of decay. The positives were that our room was quite spacious and clean, and the hotel provided a free shuttle service to the airport but that’s where it ends. The staff seem very disinterested in their jobs. We caught the front desk sleeping staff sleeping on the job and had to wake them up, so that was interesting. They were not very helpful and seemed annoyed when answering simple questions. The bell boy and the shuttle driver were lovely however. The area around the pool is a hazard. The floor boards are decaying and loose and I felt like I was going to trip or fall through. The pool, was decent enough, however it is definitely showing it’s age. It looks like management has made no effort to up keep the property as it’s falling apart. The pool bar looks like it hasn’t been used in years and was flooded and the water features and ponds are all murky and decrepit. The phone and TV in our room didn’t work and the wifi was basically non existent. The doors are very thin so we could hear everything that was happening outside, and in the middle of the night our safe starting beeping and woke us up and it took awhile for me to figure out how to make it stop. The bed was also extremely uncomfortable. When we went to check out it was early in the morning and there was absolutely no lighting, so trying to get to the lobby I actually had to use the flashlight on my phone. I would not recommend this place, which is a shame because it looks like it has so much potential but there is really a lack of care.

Reviewed By EssexUkHoliday111A nice hotel on the whole, choice of 3 swimming pools, on the beach and good local restaurants to choose from. The room is nice although we booked a superior room we were told on check in they just call it that to sound good but really it is there standard room. We should have looked in to this as not having a balcony for a whole week was a huge disappointment and meant we had wet towels and clothes hanging around the room to dry... The restaurant is good quality and the included breakfast was as expected with a varied choice although after 4 days it become dull. We also found that the restaurant expensive compared to nearby restaurants- they do a happy hour but even then it is still expensive. They don't like you bringing drinks from the shop but everyone did as they were charging too much to use the bar all day. Staff are lovely and helpful throughout- especially the cleaning staff that do a great job. The only issue we had was with reception who panicked us when we first arrived as were not expecting us and were very unhelpful in the situation, although redeemed themselves throughout the week. I would recommend the hotel if you are looking for a quiet break, stay nearer bo phut town if you want more nightlife. I would avoid the 'superior' room unless you don't want a balcony.

Reviewed By kristinatsevalSuch a nice place! The most friendliest staff ever. The whole family is running this place and it feels. There is only 6 villas on the territory near Choeng mon beach. We had a lot of space as all villas are 1-bedroom and we felt very cool travelling with the child. There is one big swimming pool and villas are standing around it. Every day we got breakfast to our veranda, and there is a lot to choose from for breakfast. Fresh fruits every day. It is 5 minutes to the Choeng mon beach, the beach is nice, it has smooth white sand not like other beaches on Samui. I really recommend this place!

It’s a very relaxing Resort with comfy sun beds around the pool.The rooms are very clean with comfy beds, bed linen changed daily, large Fridge which you need, each room faces the pool with such picturesque viewsThere’s two washing machines in the entrance to each block and you have an airer to dry off your clothes on the balcony. The Breakfast is continental, you can order food and drinks during the day and the coffee is barista style which is the best as I enjoy my coffee. The beach is a 5 minute walk away and as you step out of the entrance of the Resort there are local buses. Just around the corner to the left literally a step away is a hairdressers. There are local shops open 24/7. Restaurants eating places very reasonably priced. Gift shop. I would highly recommend Panya Resort for a relaxing holiday and if I visited Ko Somui again I would certainly be staying at Panya.
