Reviewed By PennyX5I arrived as a beginner: didn't know how to ride; and a week later I was able to play polo: I'm able to canter and hit the ball properly now, all thanks to Julian, Nikita, Juan and of course the famous Fede himself! Polo is truly the most beautiful sport, but a very complex one, here you have all the support and all the knowledge you need, because you learn from the best. The teachers here are kind but also push you to your best, which was much needed for me! Staying here was another treat me! I felt home because everybody treated me like family! We had meals together with Fede's family and daily cocktail hour was always fun! I had so much fun besides polo and riding! The space is also so wonderful in itself, it's a huuuuuuge huuuuuuge farm/ranch, with polo fields, many many horses, sheep, crop fields and the most sunflower fields! Coming from New York, el venado is such a unique experience for me, an amazing one! Come to el Venado, you’re all set Lol !

Estancia El Venado was established in 1879 and has been in the Cendoya family for over 4 generations. It continues to be a working ranch of over 2500 acres; with cattle, farming, and horse breeding operations. Come and rest in one of our beautiful, airy guest rooms filled with family antiques. Unwind in a hammock acompanied by the sound of the breeze rustling through the tall trees. Explore the unending grasslands and take in stunning vistas little changed since the land was frontier. You can ride full-blooded Criollo horses with real Gaucho gear; take a carriage ride in an antique, fully restored sulky; and explore the the Rio Salado by kayak. Take a picnic with you on your explorations, or ride to town under the open, starlit sky. Delicious, traditional meals; Asados and meals taken outdoors; and activites like horsebackriding, kayaking, and fishing are all included. Also included are wireless internet, maid, and laundry service.
Took my deposit then stopped answering my emails
Reviewed By AED89I was excited to stay here as the reviews are all excellent and the experience sounded like exactly what I was looking for. I emailed the estancia for information and received a reply about availability and rates the following day. After agreeing on the dates and rates, I was sent a paypal invoice for the deposit. I paid the deposit and continued trying to reach out to book the activities and transportation, which is when the problems began. I had to send two/ three emails every time I reached out to finally receive a response- and when I did, it was a very vague response and they took no initiation to actually book the activities I was trying to plan. I tried to arrange the polo lessons as well as transportation- giving them my flight information and trying to confirm rates/ payment etc. but I never received a response. I'm not sure how they were able to take my money, offer to arrange activities and transportation and just stopped responding to my emails! I didn't end up going as the deposit wasn't expensive and I thought it was safer to book something more reliable, being alone in a foreign city. El Venado never even reached out to me to find out why I didn't show up for my reservation. Considering the distance is quite far from Buenos Aires and most of the cab drivers don't speak English, the whole experience made me feel generally uncomfortable. Not sure what happened with my reservation as others seemed to have a good experience, but can't possibly recommend them after stealing my deposit. There are plenty of great estancias- find one worth giving your money to.

Reviewed By laviajeraconectadaUna estancia ubicada a pocos kms de Bs As, sobre la ruta 2. El lugar es muy agradable, ambientes muy bien decorados, arquitectura colonial, habitaciones muy amplias. Todo está preparado para que el huesped se sienta como en su casa. La comida es es de primer nivel, el precio incluye todas las comidas. Es un ligar para relajarse y darse un lujo. Lo recomiendo, está cerca y para desenchufarse es una alternativa muy buena, sin alejarse demasiado de la ciudad. La gente que trabaja allí es super cordial, atenta sin invadir. Tiene una pileta muy linda, un gran parque, muy bien cuidado.

Reviewed By Anika BNos gusta mucho el viaja a la estancia la Alameda! Gracias! The only thing that could be changed is the way the horses are treated. The ones outside for visitors to ride were very blunt and could use a more caring treatment; clean water, less tight equipment.
