Nothing good to say about this hotel
Reviewed By XKR100I was booked into this hotel by a local company. This is not the type of place would choose to stay a night in but decided to give it a go to be respectful to those I was meeting here. First room I had to change immediately due to the very bad smell! Next room whilst large was very basic and did not have a nice atmosphere to it. My room faced the main road and unfortunately as with so many low end hotels in China the windows were almost non-existent to noise and wind = sleepless night mainly due to the Chinese way of driving which requires the use of your horn constantly. Bed was hard. I was very pleased to check out and move on.

Reviewed By drewcreekycIt’s a surprise that they provide gym. Breakfast was good. Staff were friendly. You can’t ask for more in terms of this rate. Overall, I prefer HIE Changjiang to Hotel Nikko. Will come back and recommend it to friends.

Good hotel with zero communication
Reviewed By FrenkiDsI have stayed for one night in this hotel and I have to evaluate the overall experience rather than the hotel itself: the position is quite central, walking distance to some of the main attractions just like the Humble Administrator Garden. My room was also good: clean, spacious, with a big bed (even if the mattress was slightly hard) and a big TV screen. Nevertheless, the experience with the staff was quite difficult: nobody could barely speak English, not even the basics. The check-in was awful: it took me 30 minutes to complete it; the girl at the reception seemed to have no idea about how to do a check-in and at some point I had the impression that I was not even in the correct hotel (in the end, however, they offered me a cup of coffee). Moreover, every time I basically needed to tell them something (even if I just had to leave my keys) it took me a lot of time. This is not possible in an international hotel chain such as Hanting Express. This is definitely something to improve.

Great value for money, the staff shows a real care about the customers
Reviewed By breakphreakWe needed to switch the accommodation place because in the previous one the rooms were very cold during the winter night. The room is very spacey and clean, including all the standard facilities and an Internet connection. The staff is very friendly and shows a distinct care about the customers. The prices is affordable, especially if you are becoming a member of Hanting Express (worth to spend another 28 RMB). The air conditioner (heating) is strong and is directed toward the bed. The location is near one of the major shopping streets in town and not far from the tourist attractions. We simply recommend this place, especially during the cold season :)

Good value for money and convenient to Higher Education Town for westerners
Reviewed By John TThis is a clean hotel with young and pleasant staff. My only criticisms are that their air-conditioning maintenance is a little less than adequate, and they vary the breakfast menu only a tiny bit. I had a five-week stay and am not sorry I stayed here. Had May and early June been much warmer, I might not have been as satisfied since the "master" air-conditioning tech on duty could not get my A/C working well. It always helps to know Mandarin, but the staff at this property were always good-natured and pleasant, even if my Mandarin left a lot to be desired. This property is located int eh center of the Hanlin Neighborhood at the east end of HET (higher education town). While it is a 30 min walk to the west end of HET, the residential sections are concentrated in this east section, and it makes weekend life more interesting. I will stay at this hotel again, I am sure. There are multiple restaurants to choose from for conventional dining right in the Hanlin Neighborhood Center; There also is "Victor's," and ex-pat hang-out where various libations sold inside can be consumed outside rain or shine under a protective covering. The Alpes bakery and coffee shop has some pleasant sandwiches in addition to many deadly pastries that fat-lovers will enjoy! Only five minutes walk to the west is Wenxing Square and Plaza that has many other restaurants, convenience stores, and coffee shops. A few more minutes south of Ren'Ai Lu is a primary entrance to Xi'an Jiao Tong Liverpool University with Zemo's Cafe (coffee and western style dishes) around a busy branch of ICBC and a Bank of China ATM facility.
