Not to Western Standards
Reviewed By Chris WWhile I am sure this hotel compares favorably to others in area, it is simply not comparable to a western 4 star hotel as they claim. There is a language barrier if you don't speak Mandarin, so your stay can be tough. Main complaint was with condition and cleanliness of the room. I stayed there for two weeks and room was not vacuumed once. Had some tea cups I used, maids never replaced and tea bags became moldy. Towel replacement is sporadic, and the room had mold and water stains in it. Just a grimy place where you never felt truly clean. The shower was inconsistent, and a/c was not good by my spoiled western standards. They boast a pool, but it is really a swim club costing 38rmb per visit (about $6). Also add more as they require you to buy/wear a swim cap which is funny considering the dirtiness of the hotel and town in general. The hotel is not in Shijiazhuang, but rather is located across the river in Zhending County. I am sure it was very nice at one time, but has not aged well. If you can would stay in city at Hilton or Holiday Inn as they are much more modern and western appealing.
