Great hotel with amazing views
Reviewed By RapwalkI've stayed in enough rubbish hotels in South Korea - go no further than Ramadas as an example - to know a good hotel, and the Stamford, Tongyeon is very good. Friendly staff, clean rooms with fabulous views, and a very tasty ground floor restaurant that did good steaks and had decent wine. The hotel was not over-busy, there was none of this forming a line for breakfast, the elevators were efficient and the wraparound balcony was superb. This is a proper hotel that actually offers facilities. You are also very close to the fantastic luge and cable car. And parking is very easy.

Reviewed By ojitos_negros2010Hotel is located a few blocks from the fish market, restaurants, and the painted village on the hill. Felt safe walking in the area. Room was small but clean. Decent "American breakfast" was included in our booking. Ferry terminal is about 20 minutes walk.

Reviewed By nickv720Good location near ferry terminal, staff speak some English. Some not that friendly. Rooms, clean, enough room and with view on the harbor. There is no option for breakfast. There are plenty of motel options nearby, our experience is that most of them are good/great and less expensive.

Reviewed By 全家旅行家A wonderful small hotel operated by family with a very kindly owner. You should need to consider to stay at this hotel if you go to this area. The hotel is very clean, good and tasteful building operating by a very good man. you can watch a very attractive and beautiful screen when you watching outside from your room especially when the sun rise and sunset. You should make clear the address before when you need to use GPS to direct you to goto this hotel. I should come back for the next time when go to this area again.

Reviewed By JiminleeMy family made a reservation for my grandma’s 80’s birthday. We arrived at 1pm and did yacht riding for an hour. Check out for this hotel is 3pm and we arrived at 3.30. We got two biggest room at and when we found that the room door was open and room wasn’t even cleaned. I called the front desk and they said I had to wait for 1 hour and 30 mins as they had so many guests and some guests who did the late check out from last night. It is ridiculous that we had to wait because of the previous customers, she, the front desk woman, didn’t even say sorry to us and tell us to just wait. Another thing was that we had only 4 small towels even we were 10 people. They don’t even check how many guests are staying. Ah! One last thing for you to remember if you would like to stay here is that PLEASE take your own shampoo, body shampoo, toothpaste,etc. They don’t have anything prepared for you except for a small roll of toilet paper. So yes, I don’t recommend you to stay here. Please do not!

Too close to Tongyeong Port
Reviewed By Unz CHere is near Tongyeong Port where we can take a boat to Somaemul-Do or Maemuldo. You can walk only2-3min. And also you can walk from hostel to Dongpirang village and Geobukseon. นั่งรถเมล์จากบัสเทอมินอลมาลง 서호시장 แล้วเดินมาไม่ไกล และใกล้ท่าเรือทงยองมาก เดิน2นาที ถึงเลย เราเลือกเพราะต้องขึ้นเรือไปเกาะโซแมมุลในตอนเช้า สามารถฝากกระเป๋าได้

Beautiful place
Reviewed By HPM52Very nice place to stay for a couple of days. View over the sea is spectacular, once the fog has gone. Fresh fish in the village. Nice walks up hill. The apartment is big, with 2 large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a huge living-room/kitchen. Will be back on our next trip.

3 night stay in Tongyeong
Reviewed By Eric MWe stayed for 3 nights in March and found this hotel to be quite nice. Compared to many hotels in South Korea this one is more western in style. The room was comfortable and clean and the view from the balcony is nice. There are also several entertainment options for kids (Playstation room, pingpong room, small arcade, etc) although we did not utilize them. Although it is located a short distance from Tongyeong city it is still convenient to town, especially if you have a car. I would stay here again gladly.
