A gorgeous Tuscan retreat where you're treated like family
Reviewed By Alexjsmith0115An amazing retreat nestled within the incredible Tuscan countryside. It has a gorgeous infinity pool with an amazing view of the valley below. Walking distance to two nearby chianti towns, but with the hospitality you won't need (or want) to leave. The staff of the hotel, however, are the real gems. Carlotta's wine expertise will ensure you always have the perfect pairings. Simone's attentiveness and charisma means you'll always be well attended throughout your stay. And Muna's incredible care will ensure that each dinner will always be better than your last. These were just the few names we learned in our short stay, but needless to say, those not mentioned were equally as impressive. We truly felt like family staying at this wonderful establishment, and cannot wait to come again. Love, Alex and Chelsea

Amazing staff, would like especially mention Antonella and Alicia who were lovely to us and especially to our little boy Daniel. Highly recommended hotel

A comfortable and convenient base from which to explore the villages of Tuscany
Reviewed By Jim_CathyBlacktownWe were a large family group consisting of our family of four and my sister in laws’ family of three and stayed three nights. The units were large, warm and comfortable. The mornings were a brisk -5 deg to 0 deg C but you’d never have known it in the unit. There was a refrigerator but no microwave oven. We stayed in late November so not many guests so the breakfast on offer in the dining area had a limited selection of food. Still tasty, but limited. When we first arrived early in the day so our rooms weren’t yet ready so we asked for recommendations of where to go until check-in. The young lady at the desk, whose name escapes me, was very helpful. (All staff we’re friendly and helpful)We ended up returning at 7pm we had such an interesting time exploring the roads and villages in the area. San Gimignano is not to be missed. Never got to thank her in person but her recommendations were spot on. The property is a little isolated so you do need a car to get around. It is very convenient to the Autostrada to Florence ( no traffic noise) and has a lovely rural backdrop. Prices were really good at this time of the year and we were very happy with it. We wouldn’t hesitate to return if we visit the area again.

A gem of a B&B, total relaxation
Reviewed By chapeljoinery92We arrived late afternoon, touring Italy on our motorbike, very hot and tired. Our welcome was wonderful, very friendly and put us at ease straight away. Thank you, Filippo! The pool was great and we virtually had it to ourselves. It served as an excellent base to visit the local area. The breakfasts had variety and quality, just as the evening meals we had at the 'Ristorante Borgo Antico' enclosed within the B&B. Absolutely amazing!

Hate to say it, but expectations were far from met
Reviewed By melaniepeisenI had high expectations for this property, given the COMO reputation, the caliber of the restaurant on property, and the immaculate setting in Tuscany. I THOUGHT I could not have thought of a better place to spend such a special occasion with my husband after not being able to travel for two years. However...from the moment we arrived, the experience was one disappointment after another, both big and small. Starting with being checked-in and escorted to a room that had not been cleaned from the prior guests departure. We we're left to wait outside for several hours until the room could be made. On the second day of our stay, the beautiful pool had turned green from poor keep. And on the third day after a short unexpected rain storm mid-day, the terrace outside La Torre was left with dirty plates, half empty cups, and soaked napkins for several hours. As for the staff, some of the staff members were pleasantly friendly, yet lacked the training or professionalism to be expected at a 5 star resort. Other members, such as the bar attendant by the pool were cold and unresponsive. The Chef was ever present trying to make up for other members of the team's short comings, though it was apparent his patience was often tested. Because of the initial issue at check in, the team offered to make up for the poor welcome by reimbursing some of our stay for the night, which was an unexpected gesture at the time the gesture was made. However, at the time of check out, because we had prepaid, we were told the best that the team could do was cover the ride of our driver to our next destination that day. One last instance of over promising and under delivering. I am not one to typically write a review, and I tend to give the benefit of the doubt to the team in instances like this. Unfortunately, what had been expected to be the experience of a life time ended up just being the low point of a nice trip and I hope my feedback helps make sure that this is not the case for future guests.

It was an extraordinary stay. Beautifully maintained, once Maria's family home with a real feel of a home. Comfy beds, warm and cosy, coffee and vino and home baking on tap, Fabulous breakfast with the best omelettes by Mery made with organic cheese, quality throughout, a wonderful view over Chianti, great position for visiting so many absolutely stunning villages, views, views, views. What I and my husband would have loved to have done further is stay longer but we will be back without a doubt.

The breakfasts are so fresh and tasty and you should definitely try the dinner! Beatrice, love and hugs, wanna surely be back again!

Built in the first years of 1800 today offer charming holidays homes equipped with all kind of comforts ( fully equipped kitchen, sat TV, airconditioninig,barbecue). On exteriors are available many common areas for our guests like the panoramic terrace that offer a terrific vista of the hills great to relax with a glass of the excellent local wine. A supermarket and the town center are 700 mt far away from Podere

From the first moment we felt very welcome, we were warmly greeted by Niccolò, the fantastic genius loci who was always available in person or over WhatsApp. If we needed something or had questions he responded immediately and also gave us restaurant recommendations. The podere is very well located, you can reach all the important sights like Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra, Greve a.s.o. really comfortable and two absolutely great advantages are that 1) a supermarket is within 3 minutes by car, 15 minutes by foot and 2) there is no long an winding dirt road like to other Tuscan accommodations I have been to. Our apartment was huge with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a large kitchen and a gigantic living room. Once we even had a pasta course with the one and only Antonella in the kitchen which was really a fantastic experience. We also had our own big garden with table, chairs and even a barbecue. Absolutely great!! Thank you Niccolò and the others from the staff, we’ll be back!! Tanti saluti from Mona-Lisa & Co
