Worst hotel in cleanliness and room condition
Reviewed By pannawats2014The hotel is located in the old city area which is not so good in environment. So, I chose this hotel for my business trip and expected good working space in the room. However, the working desk in very tight and narrow. The room is too dim and dark with the interior design in black and white which supposedly to look modern, but it is not. The bathroom, especially the toilet is dirty, where I needed to ask the housekeeping to clean up before settling down on the first day. After the first night, I needed to move because the air-cond was not working properly, too cold and not be able to adjust the fan speed, so my first night was terrible with the coldness. After moving to another room, still I observed the yellow stain still on the toilet which made me realize that it is the culture of cleanliness level of the hotel. However, I was happy with the new air-cond which it was working better to control the fan speed. The front desk is not very helpful and not responsive to any request. Thus, I would say that staying here is quite independent, you need to deal with any problem by yourself, asking for help is hopeless. If anyone would expect to enjoy the bathtub at the balcony, please reconsider because the privacy around the hotel is very low, even the room is facing the empty space, but next to the empty space is the public road and housing. So, for me the bathtub at the balcony is useless. The only good thing of the hotel that I can see is the free bananas and drinking water always at the lobby. BTW, the breakfast line is poor, and leaving no other option to eat something else because outside the hotel is nothing to eat in the morning.

Overall decent stay, comfortable hotel

The good: Check in was super efficient (prob cuz I was still under test & go during my stay), hotel staff very helpful w my deliveries, bookings, questions etc and I had all my ALL membership benefits given to us without having to ask (I had other stays in other Accor hotels in other countries where I had to ask before benefits are given). Hotel bar at level 18 has good views of the city. Room was comfortable, large and clean. Bed was comfy. My room had a balcony which was great. Toilet was big and shower area was huge. Very powerful jet and hot shower. To improve: rooms were relatively spartan prob cuz mine was a superior. Looking a little dated as well can do with some upgrading such as adding some USB charging ports apart from the standard three pin. Also room slippers looks washed and reused cuz mine was very grey and old looking. Towels also getting a little threadbare. Housekeeping is only once every 3 days due to covid but they are happy to clean if you ask them. Location is close enough to city center, walking distance and near to restaurants or markets. Nothing much in the immediate vicinity of the hotel though, a lot of shops are closed. But just a bit of walking will do.

Unexpectedly trendy hotel at excellent price

The lovely downstairs café with its Sino-Portuguese feel and excellent coffee selection (finally a non-sweet iced late in Thailand!) is a great introduction. The hotel starts on the second floor, complete with cozy all-day breakfast rooms cooled off by AC/fan. My room was on the 3rd floor, which hosts a common space with free water, coffee/tea and noodles. The room itself was squeaky clean, something somewhat hard to come by in the area, and it’s dark blue, grey and white tones had an immediate cooling effect on me. Not to mention the open shower and bathtub on feet hidden behind a heavy blue velvet curtain. Materials and fabrics are of excellent quality - the matress and bed linen in particular were far superior to what you normally get for that price. The AC/fan is a recent model, very easy to adjust to your own preferences. It all makes for a sophisticated feel great for couples or female travellers. Best to know that there isn’t a lift and the stairs are a bit of a trek, but the staff was happy to help with my bags. The only low point for me is that staff is only on-site from 7ish to 5pm. And while they are absolutely lovely and willing to help, they seem overwhelmed with running both the hotel and café at the same time.. which led me to almost miss my boat to Koh Phi Phi because they had not reconfirmed my taxi to the pier. That wasn’t comfortable but the morning girl went out of her way to get me another taxi and I made it on time eventually. I must say that they do give you an emergency phone number in case you have any issue outside of working hours. While the boutique hotel doesn’t have a pool, you can access that of the nearby (100 meters) other Blue Monkey hotel. All in all I’d be happy to come back, just double (or triple) checking on transfer arrangements.

Less than 800 meters to the Expo shopping market, Fruits market, Phuket Grocery and Indy night market (night market only on Monday -Wednesday & Sunday) Theatre (Cinema hall) etc. There are many restaurants, bars, pups and entertainment area near-by, Monkey hill, Barber (hair cut) Town hall, Road-side restaurants etc. 500 meters to Bus terminal 1 to go to Airport or to Bus Terminal 2 (location out-side Phuket town). 1.2 K.M. to Old town, Lime Light Avenue (shopping mall), food court, massage, super market, Thai restaurant, Japanese restaurant, Coffee shop etc. We are the tranquility hostel in town with cleanliness facilities, Free Wifi, Internet and Table top computers, Breakfast, Towels.

He also gave us great tips for our trip. Thank you Pi Ti for the best hospitality we could dream of! The room was very clean and confortable with A/C and big lockers.

Also good if you are killing a night before going to Rassada Pier and the Islands. Chivilla Market nearby is cool. Breakfast not great.
