Lovely Hotel, stayed overnight. All the facilities were wonderful really, just thought that the bathroom could do with an extractor. Minor thing really but noticeable. Ironing facilities, great clothes space. Beds are luxurious, clean and fresh.

First time visit here and wow what an excellent hotel this is.Check in on arrival was effortless and the formalities and parking were handled well by Megan who informed me which room I was staying in and what time my meals were and where the restaurant and bar were. The room featuring a Queen size bed was superb and clean and spacious.I was a little nervous of dining alone but I needn’t have worried as Hannah and Raj made me feel at ease in the impressive restaurant.Hannah explained how the two menus worked and what some of the dishes were like which made my choice easier from so many options checking on me from time to time to see everything was okay.As a solo diner I was made to feel very welcome with polite friendly and importantly smiley service from Hannah,Raj and John and that for me put me at ease and made the stay that much more enjoyable.Located handily for all places of interest and with a secure car park close to the front door unlike other hotels in Sheffield I am sure I will be back here again soon.Thank you all for a 5 star stay.

Amazing!!!

Myself and boyfriend had a 25 minute spa treatment of our choice and access to all the spa facilities through a Red Letter Days voucher. The lady on the reception was so sweet and welcoming, and showed us the changing rooms etc. We were given slippers, towels and robes (some of the reviews from a while back state that these weren’t included, but they were for us). The pool was amazing, lovely lighting, temperature and size too. We then went and had our spa treatments, we both opted for the back massage and oh my god it was amazing! Leigh and Fausta (apologies for spelling) were so lovely and calming, and both massages were fabulous. The rooms were clean and tranquil, and the relaxation room post-treatment was lovely too *picture attached is of said room* Really really recommend, we’ll definitely be back. I’d happily recommend it to friends and family, and would also visit with friends as well as my partner. Thank you again to the lovely Leigh and Fausta, you’re bloody miracle workers!

Nice surroundings and buildings, let down by the staff

We've stayed a few times at the Kenwood as it provides us with peace and quiet and it's close to family. The grounds are always lovely to walk around. However the staff are terrible. The receptionist didn't seem to be interested when we complained about the room being unclean with articles left by previous occupants. I would go so far as to say that the hotel seems to attract staff who struggle, which is nice that they get employed. I'm reminded by the bartender who seemed to have had a charisma bypass or the receptionist who never smiled once in three days that we saw her. It's great that Mercure can find these dour folk work in these trying times. I should add though that there was one barman who seemed switched on and enigmatic, so perhaps all is not lost.

Welcoming and friendly

We stayed at The Psalter for the weekend whilst attending a wedding. We were made most welcome and enjoyed our free drink. What a clever way of getting us all into the bar early. Throughout the weekend nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff. Our bedroom was fine and the bathroom was spacious, clean and modern. My only suggestion for improvement would be a mattress topper as the bed was a little firm. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

The Marco Pierre White attached restaurant is not good at all . It is overpriced and it’s substandard food is more Toby carvery than what it claims to be, served by unfriendly staff under a sniffy supervisor . The pool is constantly booked solid.
