Reviewed By Viaggiatore0607I lost my sign on and password - we traveled in October 2019. This hotel in this small town was a charming place. This is a charming town with old world cultures. Simple rooms which were clean. A lovely breakfast was served. Parking was close by.

A MAGICAL PLACE IN A BEAUTIFUL TOWN
Reviewed By SeattleBinniScilla is a charming and picturesque spot, and B&B La Veduta is the perfect base to enjoy it from. As others have said, this is a spotlessly clean small accommodation with just three rooms, one atop the other above a ground floor kitchen and breakfast area. All three rooms have the same floor plan, with comfortable balconies directly above the water affording a stunning view out to the sea and up and down the coast…nice chairs with cushions. The sound of the water lapping at the shore as we went to sleep was wonderful! Each room has a spacious private bath across the hall…the stairwell bisects the building. We were on the top floor which featured a lovely wooden ceiling that angled upwards making the room feel quite spacious. But any of the rooms would be lovely. What really made our three-night stay special was our hosts. Nella is a warm and engaging person who is clearly proud of her business and town. She claims her English is not good, but she loves to chat and manages to communicate a lot in a charming combination of Italian, English, and French. The breakfast served here is the best: a nice assortment of meat, cheese, and breads plus lovely fresh fruit and wonderful home-made tarts and cakes. Nella is a great baker! They went the extra mile for us: on our last night, when we asked if a cab could be ordered to take us in the morning to nearby Villa San Giovanni to catch a passenger ferry to Messina in Sicily, Nella insisted Michelle take us. So nice! In the town, we loved both wine bars that are just down the street from La Veduta and there’s a lot of great seafood to be had in the restaurants all along the water. We also enjoyed a meat-centric meal in the “upstairs” part of the town at a restaurant called Osteria del Centro. We shared the vitello tonnato as a first course and it was perfectly prepared.

Tutte le nostre camere Deluxe coniugano in maniera sublime il massimo del confort con uno stile moderno e funzionale, per poter offrire ai nostri ospiti un soggiorno memorabile circondati da un'atmosfera unica. Recentissima creazione del desiner Fabio Aloi, che ha scelto uno stile contemporaneo, le camere propongono colori neutri ed una mobilia total white in contrapposizione ai toni caldi dei soffitti in legno, il tutto impreziosito da illuminazione a led. Il massimo del confort è offerto grazie ai nuovi materassi in strato di memory foam, lenzuola di finissimo cotone satinato, spugne morbide ed avvolgenti, prodotti di cortesia della linea Pascal Morabito e ciabattine in omaggio. Non mancano certamente aria condizionata, TV a schermo piatto, riscaldamento, cassaforte, minibar, asciugacapelli e campanello d'emergenza.

My wife had the grilled swordfish - a simple dish with olive oil and light herbs, as it should be - and I had pasta with clams. Both dishes were excellent. The bill, including a very good "vino de la casa" came to a reasonnable 48€. While the terrace is lovely, the few tables indoors seemed stuffy and in an overly decorated room; the terrace is way better!

At B&B Il Borgo, the sea laps at the base of the house, just a few feet below your balcony. It couldn't be more appropriate, more magical, more special. The views from the balconies are simply spectacular. Laura, the warm and welcoming homeowner has lived there all her life, as did her mother. She is a natural host, whose joy is evident when she sees her guests' delight. The rooms in her ancient house are modern and immaculate, with all the comforts of a hotel room. An excellent breakfast is buffet-style in Laura's kitchen, with Laura herself presiding, serving coffees, only leaving when she's sure her guests have everything. This was my first experience at a B&B in which the host actually lives, and I was a bit apprehensive. It turned out to be a wonderful experience. (We even lucked out with a parking place ten feet from her front door.)

The cleaner was the best in all of my 43 days in Italy ?? , so precise and clean . Also the other young man (who may be also the cleaner ) whose name I didn’t get.. Also in the electric car was very helpful and kind .

Worth The Steep Climb
Reviewed By LauPaSatUnfortunately only spent one night at La Bastia and chose to stay in Scilla because it is close to the port from where the ferry departs for Sicily. The room is small but spotlessly clean and very comfortable with a magnificent view of the bay.The hostess was very warm and welcoming and kindly arranged a very early morning taxi to the ferry terminal.

Reviewed By Maria DWe stayed in the apartment here at Marina Grande since we like having our own kitchen, it was lovely! They cleaned the room every day, served a lovely breakfast, & made us fresh eggs every morning. Francesca was so helpful and so kind, we booked this very last minute and she helped us out of a tough situation so we are so thankful. It's right next to the beach & the free Parking lot, which is so convenient since we leave for the airport early in the AM. The restaurants are about 1/2 a mile walk which we liked actually, it's not a big deal at all you walk along the beach, there are also plenty of places to eat on our corner. Check it out, we were really happy with our stay here. :)
