great view, rooms a bit dated
Reviewed By pietro bour room was small and generally a bit dated. However, the room had a door to a magnificent (private) balcony, with a superb view on the sea and the coast. Perfect sunset. breakfast OK. walking to town is about 10 min, very nice along the beach at daytime; coming back at night we chose the road: you need to be careful because of (rare) cars.

Charming family run hotel

Staff were lovely very friendly, we had a suite which was a double room with an extra single in a separate bedroom and shared bathroom. The single was very small but was cosy. We chose room with large balcony, and it was very large. The hotel was very clean, we had half board option and enjoyed the food and atmosphere in the restaurant. There is a small outdoor pool which is in a separate bit of the hotel which was very quiet and we felt like we were in our own villa which was nice. There is also an indoor pool. There is a bar but we did not use that much - it is manned by whoever is on reception. Only slight criticism is that prices are not displayed so we had to ask but having said that at 11 euros for a bottle of wine they were reasonable. There is a fridge in the room which has small bottles of water left in - these we were charged 2 euros for but it is absolutely fine to buy your own from the supermarket down the road. Hotel is well placed for shops bars and the beach. You can walk about two miles along the front to a nice marina. The train station is about 100 metres away and it is easy to get trains to Florence and Pisa, we also went to Lucca which was a bit more complicated but worth it.

Pool area is clan and nice. Staff is super flexible and they do their best to everything go perfect. Rate 10/10. Very STRONG recommendation.

Our evening stroll along the waterfront, and our pleasant morning walk along the shoreline in to the town centre made an impression on us. This skyline is gorgeous. Merely 20 minutes walking distance from the railway station, the Pensione is a quiet and immaculate residence. Their breakfast is Italian, so you will find excellent coffee and fruit juice, but none of the cheeses,smoked meats and hams that Scandivians adore. Our host here listened to our comments,so we had plenty of fresh rolls, a variety of cheese and salami next morning.Taxis to and from the station with luggage costs only 10 Euro,. The artitechture along the main road varies from classical Mediteranian villas to one orange Art deco house Restaurants : The Bar Norge is merely one hundred metres away, and their salads are fresh, their pizzas delicious and the sea food is excellent.

Lovely hotel with great staff
Reviewed By Dersal_gEveryone was very helpful and accommodating. Providing us with information and assistance when required. Our friend was staying a 30 minute walk away and couldn’t get a taxi as it was late, so the evening staff from the hotel managed to drop her off. It was really nice of them. We had two young children and there was enough space to keep them entertained in the hotel grounds. Our friends stayed in different hotels and they all commented how this one was the cleanest and very modern in its appearance. We enjoyed staying here!

"Relais" means a coach stop where teams of horses were changed out for long-distance travel. There was often a tavern and sometimes an inn at such locations where travellers could eat/drink/rest while the horses were traded out. Today is meant to suggest something homey and comfortable... If you looking for a travel which is not only a trip but an authentic and irreplaceble experience..

Reviewed By tentwo329Letizia and Raffaele were very accommodating hosts. They communicated as often as needed prior to our arrival. The room we rented was immaculate and situated at the base of the castle; excellent location. We had dinner at their restaurant and had one of the best dining experiences. Letizia is also the chef and was very nice to have conversations with. They really have built a wonderful place for tired travelers. One thing that could be improved was their lack of wi-fi for those of us traveling from the USA; a minor inconvenience. Since the location is not within walking distance from the train station, they offered a ride to it—such a relief. If you’re ever in the area and looking for a welcoming, clean, and comfortable stay, choose Raffaele and Letizia’s B&B. I’d love to come back one day.
