The hotel itself is great for business meetings and also has a good family atmosphere with lots of activities available for children of all ages. As I was restricting my travel around I only ate at the restaurant and top floor members lounge that has an amazing view. All Chinese and Western meals were above industry standard. I highly recommend opening the balcony door just enough to listen to the ocean, it has been a great escape from my typical business travel in China. David

Reviewed By 546312784523194The location of the hotel is not very good, the service of the staff is very general, there is no special feeling, the breakfast is not very good, the room is very cold, probably because of energy saving, but as guests, they can choose to close it, which is very bad for us.

Major disappointment on first day alone
Reviewed By dinganfSeveral major issues with this property that are quite lethal from my first experience with Club Med Aranya. 1. After a more than 3 hour drive from Beijing, our car is stopped at the Aranya community gate. Despiser showing our reservation at the Club Med and having the guard speak directly with Club Med to verify us, we are not allowed into the community. The guards are also very rude although to be fair they are not Club Med employees. This managerial glitch caused us to be literally waiting at the gate in our car for half an hour marking a bad first impression. 2. We have booked two connecting rooms for the family. We repeated this in the booking and on the phone. But at the check-in we are told no connecting rooms were available anymore. This was later resolved after a manager intervened. 3. Concierge misplaced our luggage. One bag wasn’t sent up for more than 24 hours. I had to go to concierge myself to find it. I know you shouldn’t expect much from Club Med but still my first personal experience with this property has killed all fantasy I harbor with the brand.

Lunch was AMAZING!

The room was clean, although the bed was way too firm for my taste I still had a comfortable and good night sleep. The breakfast choices were really good. There were not very many traditional western dishes, but that didn't matter because the food was good. The only downside to breakfast was the instant coffee! I literally watched the lady attending the buffet grab the instant coffee from under the table, pour it into the pot, add some hot water, and swirl it around. I look forward to my morning coffee so this was disappointing. We had a local tour guide so we did not interact with the staff at the front desk, so I am not sure if there was anyone who spoke English or not. For lunch we had a formal banquet and they literally served us 15-20 different dishes and ALL of them were delicious. Overall, if I visit Qinhuangdao again I will stay at this hotel.

Summer stay at the beach
Reviewed By jpmckeon111The hotel is a 5 Starr rated. The rooms are very nice. The staff are friendly and were helpful but are not English speaking. The room service and laundry service were very good and easy to use. The beach is across the road and great for jogging along the board walk. There is a sports complex next door which hosts soccer games which I was able to attend. The fitness center is ok but not all the machines were working when I visited.

A decent hotel for a decent price...

We wanted to take them to Qinhuangdao to see the ocean and the Great Wall. This hotel was a good choice for us, and at a reasonable price as well. The rooms were very clean. The beds were pretty comfortable by China standards, and the bathrooms had nice Western toilets, a good size sink for 2 people, and a tub with shower. The people at the front desk were very helpful in several situations: helping us carry our bags to our rooms, recommending places to eat, telling us where we could find a China Unicom to put money on our phones, and helping us choose the right buses to get to the Great Wall and ocean. We ate at one of the restaurants for dinner one night. The restaurant was a little pricey for the meals that we got, but it was still a good experience with excellent service. We also had breakfast included with our stay. This was very good with a wide selection of things to eat: omelet and egg bar, buffet style line with a lot of Chinese breakfast options, and a toaster with different kinds of breads, butter, and jams. There was also a bar, a spa, and another restaurant here that we didn't try. In other words, this hotel had a lot of options and things for people to try. Although we didn't try all of them, the ones we did try were very good for us. Overall this was a very good hotel for us to stay at for the price that we paid. We had a good nights rest in a clean room and got the help we needed to find the Great Wall, which I highly recommend seeing.

Reviewed By 北京银行宾馆一般吧，和那些豪华的大酒店的房间没法比，不过也可以了。很干净，房间里有空调、电视、热水、宽带。整个楼里还有WIFI，上网很方便。在电视下面的柜上有菜单，可以点餐，价钱也不贵，一盘扬州炒饭，10块钱，挺方便的。
