Reviewed By PhthaganThe Susafa is situated in a remote and beautiful part of Sicily surrounded by hills and stunning wild flower meadows. It is I suspect, set up to cater for couples having a short break away from it all. The setting is wonderful and the Masseria has lovely gardens and a stunning pool. The staff are very helpful and friendly (many are on summer placements) though occasionally it was difficult to be understood. We never did find out if there was a possibility of a room safe for valuables, though to be fair, security so far out wasn’t really an issue. WiFi reception was good. We stayed in a junior suite for a week. The accommodation was very stylish and quite comfortable - though it would have been much better if there had been a chest of drawers to unpack into . The single clothes rail and seven hangers looked good but wasn’t enough for a week. Living out of a suitcase in quite a small room was not quite what I had envisaged. There was also a long wait for any hot water. In the shower room. Much as I’d be happy to conserve water as requested, the fact you had to run the shower for several minutes before it was even tepid rather negated my good intentions. I also think that the ‘loft ladder’ was potentially a bit of a risk if you were elderly and a bit unsteady as there was no handrail. Going down it in the dark in the middle of the night (going to loo without disturbing a sleeping partner) was a bit hair raising. Last ‘even better if’ was the dinner menu. It did not change at all for the whole week. There were four soups, starters, pasta dishes and mains. The latter were all meat-based, so it would have been even more limited for vegetarians. Being a somewhat captive audience, we became a bit bored with the options by the end of the week. I would have thought that providing an additional evening ‘special’ wouldn’t have been beyond the capability of the chef and would have added to the variety.. The breakfasts were wonderful and to be fair the quality of the meals we ate was usually high.. Bit of a mixed review I’m afraid. The owner was charming, the staff helpful and the setting stunning. Just needs a bit of fine- tuning on the plumbing and evening catering. We look forward to returning to Sicily next year.

Excellent family service!
Reviewed By Philippe2003The place is beautifull with a large pool, view on the tree plantation and mountains. But what we particularly liked is the gentleness and friendlyness of the owners family. Highly recommended! The last day we were very late (11.15) and they just re-prepared breakfast for our family... Never seen such an attentionated service before!!

Antique guarding tower from the XIV century. 4 Rooms and one suite, inside and outdoor restaurant basicly with biological food. Nine hectars of green ground at disposition of the clients who like silence, relax and slow food.

Reviewed By RocirauloIf you like an old world feel to your B&B experience, this is the place for you! The people who run this place do a great job making you feel at home. Prices are reasonable. The garden is so picturesque The cats are friendly! The entire town of Polizzi Generosa is an experience not to be missed. The streets are as they were 1000 years ago. Polizzi is set high (3009 feet above sea level) in the Madonie Mountains. Back in the day of all the invasions, the city (pop 3500) could be easily defended. Domenico Dolce is from this town and has a beautiful home there. There is a wonderful museum that recently opened that contains artifacts from the different invaders. It is a must see. The town, its churches and its people are all typical of Sicilian country life.

Reviewed By Martina CAfter the first time in August, my boyfriend and I came back again in October this year. We love hiking and Polizzi is a great location close to many walks. Ettore is a wonderful host, attentive, extremely kind, always ready to give you the best advices. We love the atmosphere of the b&b, which also extremely well located and clean. People around is friendly and the village is a little pearl. We will come back again ! Grazie Ettore

Superb hotel in a beautiful location

The location is stunning, particularly for anyone interested in nature. Nightingale, Turtle Dove, Golden Oriole, Bee Eater all seen and heard from my balcony. The evening meals were also delicious! Thankyou to all the staff!

Reviewed By E9553ERsambThe breakfast was a typical Italian breakfast with the addition of local cheeses and perfectly ripe home grown figs. The jam was also home made from fruits grown on the farm. I particularly liked the blackcurrant jam. Tea was offered in addition to coffee which was a nice touch. Most impressive was the location. The property is tucked away on a quiet road with a beautiful view of the mountains and Polizzi Generosa in the distance. It was nice to eat breakfast outside with the peaceful sounds of nature, and fresh air of the national park. There is a very peaceful vibe to the property, which you will understand when you arrive there. Pietro and his Mum were great hosts and made us feel very welcome. Pietro also showed us around the vegetable garden and gave us some organic gardening tips, which we appreciated, as we grow our own vegetables. The organic fruit and vegetables grown on the land around the property are used to make the evening meals (which were good value at 18 euros per person). Food which is not produced on the property is sourced from trusted local suppliers. We saw Pietro taking a delivery of sheep's cheese from a local supplier as he was showing us around. The local town is Polizzi Generosa, and it takes around 5-10 minutes to drive there, up a winding road. Top tip: park outside the town, especially if you have a larger car, like we did! We almost got stuck in the narrow medieval streets, and it was hard to navigate around all the Fiat Pandas parked half on the pavement, or at odd angles. There are also some great views of the surrounding landscape from the town. It has a very dramatic setting, perched along the top of a cliff face. Top Tip #2: If you need to top up on fuel, the nearest petrol station is in the town of Castellana Sicula. The Wider Area: From Polizzi Generosa, take the SP119 north up the tranquil mountain road into the heart of the park. There are stunning views. Watch out for cows crossing the road!

The farm house is located in the center of a big working organic farm, where we produce olive oil, grapes for wine, wheat; we restored this building some years ago, we made a nice swimming pool large 16 x 8 meters (a swimming hat must be worn into the water), the parking and the country road (long 2 km). Our area is usually windy and cool, that's why we decided not to put air conditioning in rooms and apartments but we can provide you with a fan. In Antico Feudo San Giorgio you can relax yourself, enjoy our food and also plan a great tour of the island because we are well located and you can reach in not much more than one hour driving all the best places to visit (Siracusa, Agrigento, Piazza Armerina, Cefalu and the Madonie, Etna and Catania, Palermo). Antico Feudo San Giorgio is in the heart of the Madonie Park.

Reviewed By robbiehofsBest ever hospitality in a secret gem of Sicily. Very easy to reach from the highway, the location is absolutely breathtaking. Beautiful common areas in a rough country style; we thought our room was the reception (it was enormous with a spacious but cosy living)! Food is fully organic but the biggest surprise is the lovely couple that runs the place and makes you feel like the most welcomed friend. When you are tired of the sightseeing in the nearby villages and the trekking in the nature around, the big swimming pool is pure heaven (the only place where our dog was not accepted, as everywhere else he was spoiled by the staff and the owners!). We will be back to experience the magic and the easygoing atmosphere

The Agritourism " La Sorgente delle Madonie" is near the Madonie Park, just a few kilometres away from Polizzi in contrada Chiaretta, the building has a modern touch with stone insertions that fit perfecty in the natural view area , it is placed away from the center of the city and will give you the possibility to have a vacantion strictly in touch with nature in serenity and calmness , the fresh air ,the fragrances and aromes of the Madonie Park will follow you during your entire stay . The structure has a restaurant with a capacity of 90 persons, a living room with a fireplace and Tv where guests can relax, read or socialize. On the outside you will find a gazebo and a large courtyard equipped with barbecue and wood - burning owen that is used for typical food tasting, also in the courtyard area there is a space dedicated to chlidren and a large private parking place. The eight rooms are very confortable with air-conditioning and private bath,the interior design of the rooms is well-finished with great attention to details and colors, it offers to guests a cozy elegant and relaxing atmosphere.
Amazing place
Reviewed By Kate5781I spent a weekend in this amazing structure and it was better than I could ever think. We've been welcomed from a very kind staff, we ate great food and found very comfortable rooms. The next morning they tell us how to arrive to Piano Battaglia, just a few minutes away, where we spent a great day in the snow. We came back and had a great dinner. I have to congratulate with the staff (also because of the impeccable hygene) and above all to the chef, I never ate as well as there (especially when they brought a 650 grams pork shank). The structure is as nice as you can see in the pictures. Absolutely adviced.
