Superb hotel

Stayed for one night in a large upgraded room. Very clean with a large bathroom. Bed and bowl put out for our dog who was fussed over. We were welcome in all the bars there and had a lovely table with space for the dog for our evening meal. Staff couldn't do enough for us. Would definitely visit again

Lovely Family Break

Reviewed By MiaKam30

We have stayed at many Premier Inn's, this one by far is our favourite! All staff, from William on reception to Mel, Erica, Ian (and another lady beginning with M?) In restaurant went above and beyond (extra treats, extra ice, detailed maps of where to go. Service was fab. We had breakfast, hot & plentiful, we decided to eat out for dinner, as there were many different restaurants around. Our room was spacious and very clean. The only thing I would say is, it would be nice if rooms could be cleaned whilst we were there. However, anything we needed, ie towels, tea/coffee were available when requested. All in all it was a lovely location for what our family of 4 needed to explore the Lakes. Thanku x

The traditional hunting lodge style of the North Lakes Hotel & Spa, Penrith reflects the rugged beauty of the Lake District. Local stone, natural wood and open log fires create a genuine 'away from it all' environment in this exclusive 4-star resort hotel. One of the best dog friendly hotels ever

Reviewed By Claire B

We are currently staying at The North Lakes hotel in one of their dog friendly rooms. Dylan (my dog, not my hubby!) has his own bed, bowl, treats, poo bags...he also has a special door to be let out if where he can chase rabbits in a field (it's ok, he won't ever catch one!) On the way to this door, he passes a bench with lots of balls, toys, treats on! Wherever we go, Dylan comes too. I can see he will definitely want to come back here! Oh, our room is amazing too: red Smeg fridge, Nespresso machine, 2 cans of g&t in the fridge, fluffy robes and slippers for the swimming pool and spa! We booked an afternoon tea which, though pricey, was worth it. Totally outdone by the cakes, the waiter kindly brought us a lovely box so we could take them away with us Every single member of staff has been both friendly and helpful: more than that, they have all made the biggest fuss of Dylan!

Queen's Head Inn

Fantastic!

Reviewed By tonymI7015LS

As frequent visitors to the lakes, and Pooley Bridge, we decided to stay somewhere we'd never stayed before, and chose The Queens Head Inn. We are so glad we did! We all had a great stay! The building is huge inside, and pub is old fashioned with low ceilings and dark roof beams everywhere, and in total contrast, the ensuite rooms are really modern, and have been decorated superbly! We also had 2 dogs, and someone with a rollator to accommodate, and this was no issue at all. Food was delicious and the staff were amazing! Special thanks to the tall blonde lady who really looked after us! This trip was a sentimental trip, and The Queens Hetad will never fully appreciate the huge part they've played in it. Thank you all so much! We definitely recommend this place and will definitely be back!

Tuck into fabulous food, hearty and filling, in the restaurant and enjoy a drink in a cosy fire nook for colder days or on the spectacular outdoor terrace with views over the Lakeland when the sun is shining. Part of The House of Daniel Thwaites collection. ** Please note bridge improvement work is due to start in September 2019, but The Crown Inn, Pooley Bridge is still open during this time. **

Unwelcoming and unfriendly.

Reviewed By Haxby-Rhino

Over the course of our short family break in Pooley Bridge, we tried to get in to The Crown twice on consecutive days. Both times we were met at the door with a barracade. The pub looked empty, but was informed by the man at the door in a blunt and rather rude tone that they couldn't accommodate us for a drink and that food was about to stop - this was at 5pm. He wasn't interested in trying to explain why we couldn't come in, nor any shred of apologetic tone. So we lleft feeling very unwelcome. In contrast, the staff over the road at the Pooley Bridge Inn were very friendly, accommodating and efficient and we stayed there a good few hours.

Lovely hotel

Reviewed By CatherineOke

Stayed here Friday to Monday on a small break away. Having never been to the Lake District we were unsure what to expect; although the hotel is not within walking distance of the lakes, its easy to drive to areas and the setting of the hotel was incredible. Getting to stroll and see the red squirrels was amazing. Rooms were clean and comfortable and just what we needed. Breakfast had a good selection and we were full for the remainder of the day - the only thing we didn't like were the eggs but the meat was excellent quality. Had an evening meal on the first night - the menu only had 4 options and the portions were small but everything was delicious. Very friendly staff too. We would definitely stay here again when visiting the lake district.
