Your wedding venue search ends here

We had our wedding reception at this wonderful venue. We cannot speak more highly of our overall experience. Assistant Manager Breda was a dream to work with. Always available and patient with us and made sure every detail we wanted was catered for. But even beyond that, it’s the smaller things we never even thought of, she had it covered. The entire staff in general could not have treated us better. The food was out of this world to put it mildly. Everyone we spoke with came out raving about their experience and particularly those with allergies and dietary requirements who needs were fully met and then some. We also stayed a second day and treated ourselves to a couple of massages in the Spa. We have travelled and had a fair shares of treatments elsewhere but these were absolutely terrific. Again the girls in the spa could not have been better. Overall, I think you would be hard pushed to find a better wedding venue. Could not recommend it highly enough. Thank you to Breda and all the staff making our day so special. Ryan, Natalie and Theo

Wonderful couple of days.

I stayed here with my elderly parents for two nights, on a Monday and a Tuesday. Due to it being the start of the week the hotel wasn’t packed. We had a terrific stay. Wow, what amazing grounds, gardens and castle. They even have a couple of peacocks roaming around. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner both days in the hotel. We had the pub/bar dinners because my mum and dad aren’t adventurous enough for any tasting menu, I would loved to have tried that. I did treat myself to a massage in the spa while mum and dad had their afternoon nap. That was wonderful too. All the staff from the reception staff to the cleaners were amazingly friendly and helpful. Would go back here in a heartbeat.

2 night stay - wildly contrasting service

Reviewed By BanzaiClepton

We stayed Friday and Saturday night. We ate in the bar both nights. Friday night was an absolute joy - food was excellent and service was exemplary. Really friendly and helpful. The food is definitely a step up from regular bar food - really well cooked and presented. However to really judge a place you need to visit when it's busy - the Saturday they had a funeral gathering in the bar and must not have been expecting it or simply didn't have the staff to deal with it. Firstly they offered to drop my drink down to me (and then forgot it). We had to go chasing a menu. At one stage I approached the bar and was asking about wine. The person speaking to me simply walked away mid conversation to serve someone else and left me standing at the bar like a dope. I can't fault the food but the drop in standards (different staff) over the two nights was shocking. Breakfast is fine - nice to have a choice so was able to have Eggs Benedict on the 2nd morning instead of the Ulster fry. Eggs Benny was fine but a bit bland. Fry was decent standard. Reasonable continental selection. Apart from the Saturday night service drop the staff were excellent and really friendly and welcoming. Room was standard - fine but nothing special. Found the bed to be not very comfortable and shower was a bit hit and miss. Overall I would certainly stay here again but might go somewhere else if the bar was busy. It is a decent walk into the main part of town - I don't mind thi.

A perfect stay!

A gem of a find!! We were in town for two days for a family funeral, usually we stay at Canal Court. However, my friend found Godfrey Mews online and for a few pounds more we were able to enjoy a very spacious and immaculately clean apartment instead of the somewhat dated room of canal court. Sheila was amazing at contacting us and checking that we had everything we needed. There was a lovely welcome pack and there was literally anything you needed for your stay. It was simply perfect!! We come to Newry to see family on a regular basis and we will definitely be back!!! It’s also the perfect central location for bars and eateries and transport links. Highly recommended!!!
