Fabulous little Dartmoor base camp
Reviewed By LH-Travels2Three of us used this little gem of a hotel to base our Dartmoor walks from. The hotel staff were so kind and helpful. Meals were very good. The little bar was a great spot to celebrate after another beautiful day. Yuri and Linda are gracious and experienced at meeting all of their guests needs. I happened to leave something at the hotel and they happily helped out when I found a way to have it forwarded on to my next hotel. This is a lovely hotel in an incredibly beautiful part of the Countryside!

Cookshayes Country Guest House is a Victorian Villa built around 1860. It is situated on the edge of Moretonhampstead on the Dartmoor Way with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Cookshayes has a private car park and is a two minute walk into town where there is a great range of shops and places to eat. The guest bedrooms are ensuite and recently refurbished. There is also a comfortable breakfast room and guest lounge where guests can enjoy a home cooked breakfast.

In the heart of the Dartmoor National Park the Belmont owner and host Antony has recently refurbished one of Moretonhampstead's town houses into a lovely, stylish bed and breakfast, welcoming you to a relaxed and comfortable stay. Rooms have king size beds and the bathrooms are contemporary. Room rates are £60 for doubles and £45 for singles.

Reviewed By Shanti813This is my third time here and as ever, the place is impeccable and Antony the perfect and attentive host. I can't recommend this place highly enough. It is a charming home decorated to a high standard. The beds are super comfortable - even more than my own Vi-spring mattress! The breakfasts are extremely generous and the town of Moretonhampstead is charming with enough places to eat in in the evening or there are plenty of pubs and other restaurants in nearby towns that Antony can advise you on. Moretonhampstead is the perfect place from which to explore Dartmoor and Belmont is the perfect place to stay. Highly recommended.

Great week, exceeded our expectations
Reviewed By 796lucywWe stayed here for six nights in August 2021, family of three with a six year old child. We stayed in The Range. It had absolutely everything that we could have needed for self catering accommodation. It was comfortable and spacious and far exceeded our expectations. The pool is a great facility and immaculately clean. Around a 20 minute lovely walk to the village along the cycle path. The hosts also were great. Would highly recommended Budleigh Farm Cottages, thanks for a great stay!

Fantastic base for visiting devon

The accomodation has everything you need, is comfortable and very clean.we thoroughly enjoyed our 6 nights here and I cannot recommend staying here highly enough, many thanks to Will and Kate for being such good hosts.

7. Dartmoor Camping
We are a local Sports and Community Centre offering camping on site. Located just a short walk from the town of Moretonhampstead we are a large, quiet campsite with clean toilets and hot showers. We welcome groups and families and have a childrens' play park and skate park on site. Tennis and badminton available as are other leisure facilities.
