Reviewed By Navigate29094138493I really recommend this place. Close to the nature, quiet, and extremely beautiful. I stayed two nights with my wife at this hotel and I will definitely come back. The staff is also really friendly and helpful. Excellent place to relax for a few days.

Reviewed By PP_RJThe hotel is very near to the city center - about 1-2min by car. Everything is clean, tidy and silent. The view to the forest mainly made of Araucaria's trees is relaxing and romantic. Great internal size of the chalet, which has hot tub, gas heater, fire place, and an enormous balcony. This is for sure a place for couples. There is a beautiful pool in front of the breakfast saloon. Free wi-fi. The only negative comment is that the hotel was not accepting any credit cards.

Reviewed By brasiltraveler13considering the anti covid limits the hotel could not be totally at fault. staff was very reduced due to cancellations. we noted total of five guests. meals suffered due to this;very limited choice. no breakfast buffet. limited staff helpful good news - beautiful grounds, excellent maintenance, variety of plants, bushes, flowers. bad news -terrible access! roads are a disgrace ! with rain almost impassible. evident that local authorities absent. this is a `mountain` region so do not expect easy walking or hiking. difficult.

Reviewed By Terrible_impressionThe hotel has an excellent location and you can forget about your car , except if you want to go to Pedra Redonda or Partida. Has very good infrastructure with a good (and hot) shower that can beat the cold weather from the city. The beds are good and my room had a termic blanket that combat the close to zero degrees. Very helpful staff also help me to recommend Alas to everyone. The only point of improvement is the breakfast that, although is very good, lacks of more options. But this is minimal compared to the entire experience.

Reviewed By alexandrebR3550NGLast weekend our family (12 people) spent a weekend in Monte Verde and we reserved 5 rooms at Saint Michel. 4 rooms for 2 days and one for one day. They were totally unflexible with one of the rooms, that arrived at 11 o clock but was not able to enter the room before 12 o clock, even with the low occupation. Same lack of flexibility occured in the restaurant, where we could not seat nearby , even in different tables

The chalet has a pattern size and is perfect for those who want to rest and be together. The breakfast is good, but simple. If you have time, try to some tours. This place offer several tours around Monte Verde. Another point is the location, if you have car, no problem, cause the chalet are couple km from Monte Verde downtown. Good place to stay.

Wonderful Stay At a Charming Pousada
Reviewed By AMMS SMy boyfriend and I visited Monte Verde over the New Year holiday for a 4 night stay at the Hotel Pousada Palos Verdes. From beginning to end, our stay was nothing short of fantastic. The staff are wonderful--extremely helpful, polite and accommodating. The proprietors of the pousada are lovely and speak Portuguese, Spanish and some English for out of country visitors. The pousada and the grounds was extremely well kept, neat, and clean. The small "hut" structure that you stay in was impeccably clean and there is even a small functional fireplace inside, fully stocked with fire starter, matches, and firewood for chilly nights. The beds are memory foam and are extremely cozy, and the house keeping every day was awesome--they even folded up some clothes that we had left on the ground and put them on the provided shelf. The absolute highlight of the stay was the cafe de manha every morning. It is the best 'continental' style included breakfast I've ever had at a hotel, with fresh cheese, meat, and hot pao de quiejo brought to your table when you sit down, and eggs cooked in the kitchen for you at your preference. There is also a large assortment of freshly baked breads, yogurts, pastries, fruit, freshly squeezed fruit juices, coffee and teas. The selection of food and juice flavors actually varies slightly every day so you won't have to eat the same breakfast twice! Overall, I would highly recommend staying at this pousada. It's beautiful, clean, and the staff are excellent. We will definitely be back!!!
