A Terrible Experience - never again
Reviewed By KapilP832We booked this resort after looking at the website and apparently rave reviews about this place. Little did we know that this was the worst decision we made. A day before checking in I was told that there was no wifi available in the villas we had booked! The only place they had wifi was in the lobby. Not a good thing to hear in the last minute and should have been disclosed upfront at the time of booking. On the day of checking in, we finally made it to this place through some rough roads. The last few kilometers leading to this resort are NOT cemented. Again- not disclosed. The property manager handed us the keys to the villas and we were shocked to see big mosquitoes in the rooms and toilets. There were ants on the walls and there was a distinct smell coming from the rooms as though these rooms had not been used for weeks! We were thoroughly disappointed- and to add to that, there was only one ceiling fan - no A/C. - Surprise! The biking paths are so rough that there is no way you could use the bicycle without hurting your butt. The swimming pool was dirty. There was cow-dung smell coming from around the poolside. We were here with our family and kids and we found these conditions totally inhabitable. When I spoke to the property manager and reservations team, I was told that they would take care of the mosquito problem - again, a hotel shouldn’t have to wait until someone complains about these things - they should have all been addressed before arrival to make for a comfortable check-in experience. I wish I had booked another hotel: we checked out the same day and went back to Kozhikode. There was no refund offered. Overall, a terrible experience at this resort.

It was a pleasure to be awaited and greeted and hosted with the most comforting bath, food and bed that refreshed us so well. We are a family of 5 and we often find it hard to find a room that could house us comfortably. But the room at tea routes was so big with a varandah that fitted us so relaxedly. Special mention for the cleanliness of the place the homely but exotic and rich spread on the dining table that makes you await for the next! the super hosts that truly enjoy what they do which radiates to us as so much of warmth and positive vibe. the property stay enroute a beautiful tea plantation and leaves you as refreshed as a strong hot tea would for a weary traveller.

U wanna have a packed peaceful day with your family, this is where u come.. Reviewed By prince070968The hotel is basically a two star at best. It is on a side lane heading to Chembra peak which closes down in summer months due to wild fires. The restaurant of the hotel is on the ground floor. The hotel itself is an on an elevated height so one has to go up steps to reach its front door or go up in a car on an inclined private small road to get to the parking. The restaurant has tables with green surface perhaps of the name of the hotel. The variety around lunch time is limited to local meals. The taste was very local and perhaps first time foreigners to the area may not be familiar with the taste. Rest room for each gender was limited to one. The staff was very attentive perhaps because there were no others in the restaurant. Overall the place was clean but due to open door there were flies around. Staff were from other states in India so speaking the local language does not help. English and Hindi might be more useful. Rooms are just barely two star and this would be a good place for bachelors especially men and not families.

Reviewed By bill bWe booked a room through this company in February 2019 and paid a deposit. The balance was due in December 2019, however we were immediately bombarded with emails saying we had to pay the balance straight away or we would loose the accommodation. We therefore paid up. In January 2020 we arrived at the hotel at 4.00 am after a very long journey and we’re advised that no accommodation had been booked. After trying to contact Guesthouser by phone with no success we were forced to pay for accommodation again. After three days we managed to contact Guesthouser by email and they told us they had not been operating for the past few days and they would phone us to explain. Obviously no phone call was received. We then received a further email saying we would receive a full refund. Obviously no refund has been received either. After two weeks in resort, we received a further email saying that our accommodation was overbooked (bearing in mind we were actually staying there) and Guesthouser would ring us to arrange alternative accommodation. Obviously they did not ring us ! I could go on but I am bored with speaking about this totally appalling company and their lack of professionalism and customer care. I will however continue to post these negative comments until we receive a full refund, compensation and an apology My advice - DO NOT USE GUESTHOUSER
