Reviewed By howardxp1Based on Western standards, it’s a solid 4 star hotel. When it was built many years ago, it was probably considered a 5 star. But as time goes by, the furniture and fixtures gets a bit dated. Still, it was comfortable and more than adequate. We upgraded to a suite with a separate living room. The views of the river were great. The sheets were very soft and clean. Had all the usual amenities including unlimited bottles of water. The internet was quite difficult to get and slow when received and the tv took 3 technicians to get to finally work! The a/c functioned fine as did the hot water. The outdoor pool was surprisingly large and crystal clear. The temperature was a perfect 30 C. The gym was a bit small but still had many of the basic equipment. Breakfast variety was mostly Eastern fare. Not much of a salad or truly healthy selection, but one can put together an adequate breakfast. English is spoken by a few of the staff, but the translation apps make that easier now. Most staff was very friendly and aimed to pleased. If you find yourself in Kaiping for the watch towers or old towns, you can’t go wrong staying here. I believe it’s the best that Kaiping has to offer. Howard S.

Comfortable stay
Reviewed By whinz_sgI was here for an overnight stay in June 19. Location - It's near to the poll station of Kaiping county, which means it's at an outskirt area. Ambience - This hotel is touted as a countryside resort. It does have that feel in terms of the size and scale of the hotel, but I suppose it has seen better days. There are parts of the hotel that shows a lack of maintenance. Room - The room is huge and sports a balcony, which is nice to chill in the evening. The bathtub was a bonus, but it's advisable to watch the temperature of the water as it can be erratic. I supposed my room has not been occupied for some time as it was musky, and the TV was not even plugged in. As housekeeping was dismal, i connected up the system myself! Breakfast - Decent breakfast but with limited western selection. The chinese selection was delectable though, which included some local specialties (rice dumpling). Do not miss out on the live cooking station, which is tucked at one corner. Service - Not much service standard to speak of. Service was transactional. Staff hardly smiles and they looked like they did not enjoy working there. Overall, not too bad for a peaceful stay. There weren't much people when I was there so there was no overcrowding whatsoever for the facilities.

Good location, newly renovated rooms
Reviewed By JJ_TravelExpressThe hotel seems to be going through a renovation phase. It’s half way through being rebranded to Vienna Hotel, which caused some confusion with taxi driver. Locally it’s called Vienna Hotel now but it’s still known as Wilson Hotel in booking websites. The hotel has no breakfast, we were told the restaurant is being renovated. The room was clean but had a strong smell of cigarette/ paint, we had to open the windows for some time to try to get rid of the smell. The lifts are shared with the shopping center, meaning the hotel floors are accessible by everyone. But it’s also means the shops at right on your doorstep. Finally, I’d recommend the hotel to proofread the text in the paintings....

Old fashioned
Reviewed By Giulia GI spent two nights at Kai Ping Hotel in order to visit Chikan and the close Dialou villages. I booked a room in Japanese style since it looked nicer with respect to the classic rooms, which looked very old fashioned. The hotel is basically a business hotel. The view on the river is great. Our room was nice, very poor in furniture and not very clean. In some parts of the wall there was mold as well as in the bathroom curtain. We found a lot of hair on the floor and in the toilet. The price is definitely too high for the rooms and the services offered. The hotel definitely needs a refresh.

Reviewed By 独孤虎酒店位置不错，在县城比较核心的位置。房间非常一般，没什么特色，卫生间在房间后面，所以稍微有些不隔音，睡觉就如图睡在走廊边上，早餐是一份份分好的，没选择，非常简单，酒店房间也不多，服务细节有待改善，有些问题。最神奇的是，房间的液晶电视超大，60寸以上的了，从来没住过这种房间。。

Reviewed By bertrandapekin老酒店，在潭江边上，门口有座大桥，在开平算得上的老酒店了，价位不高，因此性价比还不错。离开平汽车站步行10分钟有公交车去赤坎和碉楼，如果晚上想热闹点的，吃的地方多一点不妨住在开平市区，去景点也就半小时。

Unexpected lovely surprise
Reviewed By Felix FExceptional budget hotel! helpful staff, clean environment, nice rooms. This hotel is very convenient to the bus station...it's directly across the street! Lots of shopping and plenty places to grab tasty bites to eat. 2 hours from Guangzhuo by bus. 2 hours from Zhuhai the China and Macau border.
