Extraordinary - a perfect vacation
Reviewed By Tsr69Wow, what a great experience it was to arrive to B&B FONTE CUGNO. It is a lovely place for a perfect vacation. Unfortunately we stayed only one night. The location is wonderful for visiting many Umbria’s villages and cities. Also for a relaxing vacation. The rooms are brand new with a charming decoration and great facilities. The view from the room and terrace is breathtaking. But, the most wonderful thing was the hosts. What a great welcoming and a total devotion to our vacation. The breakfast was unbelievable, very rich and tasty, made from local products and homemade pastries. We enjoyed very much. We could stay there for many nights. Highly recommended.

wonderful staff in a great hotel
Reviewed By loudconsumerThis is a small, boutique hotel. It's what you would expect (or hope for) in a quaint little Italian village like Gualdo Tadino. We were there for the festival of the four gates, which occurs in late September every year. Despite all of the partying and noise and craziness, the hotel was fairly quiet, and the managers were fantastic. Their food was excellent, the room was very comfortable and I would absolutely go back again and again. It is a stone's throw from the town square.

Reviewed By aidanpeoplesThis B&B is superb. The place is spotless and the owners are truly welcoming. The location is good for traveling around and seeing Umbria. The bedrooms are very comfortable and you can relax in the peace and quiet. The thing that sets this place apart is the breakfast.... this was incredible. There was a selection of local meats and cheese as well as sweet cakes. Truly this place is 10 out of 10.

Stayed for one night, visiting the giro d'italia
Reviewed By john rwe arrived late to the B&B due to roadworks etc on our route there thinking this could be an issue as check in closed at 3pm we were greeted by the host and our lateness caused no issue at all, she spoke enough English to meet us more than half way with the translations as she showed us around the room and the facilities which was very Italian in décor and very clean. our bathroom wasn't an en suite it was across the hall although I think almost each room had this, we didn't find this a problem on our trip as we used the bathroom for a shower in the morning/evening other guests seemed to use the other bathrooms, our balcony had a great view over the surrounding valley and mountains. breakfast was self service packaged croissants, fruit tarts, bread etc yogurts and fruit juice in the fridge and tea and coffee making facilities which again was ample for us during our stay, I imagine if you wanted a hot breakfast there would be somewhere in the town a short walk away that you could go but for us for one night we quite enjoyed helping ourselves to as much or little as we wanted. It was located a short walk from the centre of the town nothing too strenuous maybe a 5-10 minute walk through a lovely little town. the host kindly booked our evening table at a local restaurant for us and we ate their which was reasonably priced and good food unfortunately I cannot remember the name now. We really enjoyed our stay here it felt like 'proper' Italy and if we were visiting the area again we would re-book here.

Reviewed By krush98We stayed at Santa Croce in May. The building, set in the Italian countryside, is absolutely beautiful. The room itself was very spacious and clean, with attention to every detail. We had a full kitchen and were able to have coffee and breakfast. The owners are very friendly and gracious and made us feel like we were "home". There was plenty of information on local attractions. We loved and recommend it so much that we gave our local tourist agency the info so others can go there. We are already planning our return.

The recently renovated structure consists of two traditional Umbrian farmhouses. It is the ideal place for a peaceful and relaxing holiday where we take great pleasure in introducing you to the flavours of typical Umbrian cuisine and much more ... The surroundings are perfect for trekking, cycling, walking in the woods and wildlife excursions, with the main Umbrian tourist attractions within easy reach. We have 20 spacious and comfortable guest rooms: single, twin, double, 3 or 4 beds, all with private bathrooms. Bed linen and bath towels are supplied. There is a large guest living room in which we have created a sitting area, a reading, relaxation and music area, an "artistic" area for the younger guests and also a play area with table tennis and table football. In the grounds there is a relaxation area for sunbathing and an above ground pool where guests of all ages can cool down during the hot summer days. Accommodation in our delightful and well cared for property is offered on a bed and breakfast or half board basis.
