Great overnight stay

Great location for a wedding in a nearby venue. The host was very welcoming. The room was lovely, nicely decorated with a small kitchen area which was stocked with items for a continental breakfast (croissants, cereals, jams, cold meat, cheese, yoghurts, fruit juices, milk and bottles of water), a comfy bed and a great shower. What more do you need for an overnight stay! ? Dinner was room service only as the restaurant is still shut. We had fish and chips...huge portions and piping hot which we ate at the small 2 seater dining table and chairs. Our other family members in a nearby room had the same experience. The hosts were still very Covid conscious, which was good to see. Limiting their contact with you, even down to their checkout process which was literally leave your key in the outside of the door and your invoice was emailed to you later in the day. My husband did pop into reception though to pay for the previous nights dinner.

The Royal Hotel

A warm welcome awaits you at this family run hotel with full license, situated in residential area close to Girvan town centre. Five of our seven bedrooms have en suite facilities, and most rooms have views over the town to the Firth of Clyde and Ailsa Craig, known locally as, 'Paddy's Milestane'. The Royal Hotel is located on the West Coast of Scotland in an area of outstanding and largely unspoiled natural beauty. A five-minute walk from our door will bring you to the charming and picturesque Girvan harbour and miles of clean, sandy shore. Ayrshire is the birthplace of the Open Championship, with courses at Troon, Turnberry, and the site of the first British Open at Prestwick. It's also the birthplace of Scotland's most famous poet, Robert Burns and of Scottish kings and heroes like Robert the Bruce and - so legend has it - of William Wallace.

Little gem

Really surprised by the great room and evening meal. Great host. Nice continental breakfast in the room. Only downside was the bar not being open. Pity it's let down by being in Girvan. The town is run down and when we went almost everything was closed.

Auld Creamery House

Misleading address and untrustworthy proprietor

Reviewed By gill g

Booked a room here via Booking.com. Address given as 9 Main street, Girvan. Cycled to Girvan, found out this place is 7 miles inland. Impossible to cycle further, phoned proprietor who said I would have to contact Booking.com to cancel booking as he couldn't do this. However, before I could do that he took the money anyway. What a lousy attitude. Don't trust this man!

Third visit

Reviewed By T0mmyM

My review is based on staying here three times for a week on each occasion, The accommodation is first class, comfortable and clean, The people who own the property are so very friendly and helpful, The property is self catering, with a bit of fore thought this is not a problem, Girvan is a couple of minutes away by car, walking distance if you are so inclined, To you the reader of this review I would most certainly recommend a stay here, I will be back again.

Lovely place to stay

Stayed for two nights last weekend. Really pleasant place to stay. Very comfortable & clean, well appointed accommodation. Hospitality was perfect. Thoughtful touches provided by owners to make stay even more comfortable. It’s a great base if you are a cyclist or walker for access to the “Ayrshire Alps”. Look forward to going back!
