Reviewed By CSItravellerAs the title suggests, the dirty, tired, dated and super smelly rooms let this hotel down. The hotel foyer, cafes, restaurants are a 4star rating - never been sick, or got sick eating their - breakfast, lunch or dinner. OK this will make you laugh ...... At check-in, the reception staff are quick to remind you that the rooms are strictly non-smoking - RIGHT! So, the first thing you notice when you get into your room, other than the filthy carpet is the strong smell of cigarette smoke, which seems to be impregnated into all the furnishings and linens. Also, when you shower - cigarette butts come floating out from behind the bath. We were lucky to get the AC to work. The beds were hard. No issue with the staff though. Noodle bar was the best thing in the cafe/restaurant.

Reviewed By 677weimWriting this is about a serious compliance issue which I just experienced during a stay at Meridien hotel, Leshan Sichuan, China which I believe the behavior from the staff involved do against the brand inspiration. I applied the suit upgrade with coupon when booked the room, and until check in still found the different type of suit rooms are available to sell in the Marriott app thus asked the lady in front desk about the upgrade status, however the reaction from her gave me a big question mark and shock me extremely. She called other colleague, asked he or she to offline those suit rooms which can be upgraded option, then turn back to me and said it’s NOK to offer me a free of charge upgrade cause there’s no suit room available per my request, with an ironic smile obviously. I was beyond angry by such cheating and personal insult behavior, can’t believe it’s by the employee from a famous luxury hotel brand worldwide, even to a titanium member which couple with the brand for years and this do destroy my past good memo in other Marriott hotels over the world. I and my wife feel quite sad during the whole stay leave a terrible memo.

Aspires to be a five star hotel but sadly fails
Reviewed By luolun1968Great adverts for this hotel and we were looking forward to our stay and the spa facilities. The hotel comprises of a number of separate buildings. We arrived went to reception and they sent us to building 6. From the moment I saw the entrance to the building I was concerned and I was disgusted with the room they offered us. Two small single beds and nothing much else and they had never moved the furniture when cleaning. I was very angry and we went straight back to reception. We showed them the photos of the rooms on the advert and said this is what we want and expect to be given. They were not pleasant and said we would have to pay 50% more which we did not accept. After an argument they gave as a room in the main hotel but with no view and at the back on the ground floor. This we accepted reluctantly.The room smelt musty and was not very clean. Be very careful with this hotel.

Reviewed By MattwalesNorthWalesJust a one night stay for a team building trip to Emei Mountain. We were upgraded for free to themed bedrooms. Ostensibly designed to delight children, it also works on adults, kinda like a Chinese Disney hotel! My room was themed around a Confucian story about sharing pears ( see pics). The hotel boasts a hot spring area, swimming pool, beautifully manicured landscaped gardens as well as a lounge bar which doesn't measure the spirits. Rooms have foreign TV too, HBO was a boon after a long day on the mountain. Breakfast was busy but provided a large choice of western and Chinese food. The staff were friendly and helpful with, for this part of the world, good English skills. A lovely stay, wish it had been longer.

Reviewed By O1593GUrichardcThis clearly used to be a nice hotel. At one point (presumably pre-COVID) this would have been a nice play to stay. Sadly it is now dirty, very tired, and ultimately fairly unpleasant. Our teddy-bear-themed room had clearly once had a lot of thought go into it, but is now in dire need of a deep clean and some tlc: mirrors were smeared/dirty, the bath/jacuzzi was filthy, the shower door was broken and didn’t close properly, and the room was smelly. Pros: Great location near bus station Good price (241RMB for two nights; double room) Free map and travel advice Friendly staff English spoken English food menu, lounge area & decent food Clean bedding and towels Cons: Very dirty rooms (we didn’t dare touch the bath!) Fixtures and fittings broken Noise (from bus station and thin walls) Conclusion: If you’re on a tight budget and can put up with a very dirty room this isn’t a bad place to spend a night or two

Lovely hotel $21
Reviewed By liv0815We got this place through Agoda for $21, and stayed two more nights for 128RMB. I love using agoda or trip advisor because it saves you trying to haggle if you don't know the language. Rack rates at this place were 480rmb. Amazing water pressure, lovely rooms (4th floor is nicer) and they held on to our bags for two days for free while we hiked the mountain. One drawback is there is no sign in English on the hotel. It has red lanterns hanging, it is on one of the four little roads across from the university and is across from "meng ba la hotel. Every piece of food we had in the tourist area was revolting (shocking in China I know) and expensive. If you stay here go right out of the hotel then right on the main drag, walk 2-3 blocks past the gate that marks the entrance into the tourist town and make a left. You will walk the length of the university (5-10min?) and then come to the local resteraunts and fruit vendors where all the college kids eat. Oh my god! Best smoked duck I've ever had (20 RMB got me half a duck chopped up) tasted like bacon. We also ate at one of the BBQ places (in between the back pack shop and milk tea place) it was incredible, we got lotus, tofu, two kinds of sausage, long beans and bits of pork all for 24rmb and it was AMAZING. Leave the tourist area, eat with the locals. Yum. There are also stores where you can get dried tofu and beef jerky for your treck for 1/2 the price of the stores in the tourist town.

Reviewed By keechengThe staff were very friendly. There is no lift in hostel. We were located room at level 3. Not much guest during our stay in early May. Room was basic and beds were fitted with heater. We had our first night with water heater down and toilet bowl clogged. All were solved the next day. Around the hostel, there were Lots of eateries around as it's located in tourist area. Expensive food in this area. Lots of touts along the main road asking to join their tour and eat at their restaurant.

On friday night, they have loud music, VERY LOUD conversations and we have to wake up next morning at 4am to go up to emeishan peak. Ur room is on 2nd floor and we can hear EVERYTHING. Also attached 2 pics and you can decide if you want to book this hotel.

Great place to relax and enjoy the nature
Reviewed By qin lI got the room with mountain view. The view was beautiful. Room was very clean, decoration was good, bed was comfortable. I particularly like the tea. The breakfast was ok. The room was pricy, but I am grateful to spend the night at this peaceful and comfortable place on top of the maintain. I was luck to to be able to see both sunset, sunrise and the cloud.
