Reviewed By T2270QZtravelerLovely host, clean room, central location and great wifi. We were met by the lovely owner, shown to the secure car park and given a choice of rooms. She then gave us great information and told us about offering food for the monks in the morning. I would recommend getting to Chiang Khan later in the afternoon as nothing opens till 5 or 6pm.

Reviewed By VarunyuThis hostel was very unique design and make me felt to old Chiangkhan and the room was very comfortable even not too specious and very close to night market and able to walk to 7/11 and to Mekhong river. I recommended for backpacker, solo traveller and with your close friend.

When I said "old", it's literally old house that you have to be careful of single step :). The owner is very "easy going" type of owner, like a friend. You can talk to him about everything anything if you're lucky to find him around hehe.

Sooooo good
Reviewed By LaimunLoo10 of us booked five rooms from Baan Suan La Moon for 3 nights stay. It is 10 to 15mins walk to the famous walking street where u can find various local food, restaurants and plenty of shopping. The property consists of 6 units of wooden huts cater for 2 to 4 pax each units. The huts are clean and comfortable within a garden grown with fruit trees and various plants. There are free bicycles provided to explore the town or even further away to the fishing village. Owner of the property is friendly, helpful and always greet us with big smile. The owner too helped us to book tuk2, van and recommend some day trips to us. Though our booking did not come with breakfast,the owner did actually provide various local food, cup mee, bread/butter/jam and coffee/tea at the shared pantry for all of us. We even asked for permission to get fresh coconut fruits from their trees in the garden, which the owner happily told us to get as many as we wanted. We enjoyed our stay so much and will surely recommend to others! As a side note, Chiangkhan and its surrounding is indeed a beautiful place! We can't fault anything of our stay at Baan Suan La Moon, probably the only one thing we want to suggest is to provide hair dryer in each room instead of getting it from the owner when need to use.

somehow disappointed
Reviewed By schochuwe booked a room with riverview... that we got... but can not recommend the goundfloor room... the view is not like on first floor... and all around a little noisy. Breakfast is simple... they give you a choice of 4 menues. Coffee has no creampowder, no toast... nothing else. Staff is kind and nice, location as such is very good. But for myself I would not go again there.

Old style Hotel within the picturesque Chaing Khan
Reviewed By YoungGunStayed for one night at the Ban Hao B&B after arriving in Chaing Khan wanting a place to stay – where the majority of Hotels and B&B’s were all booked up. The friendly owner managed to accommodate us for the one night for 500 baht which was cheap compared to the majority of the other accommodation within the centre of Chaing Khan. Although the Hotel / B&B is dated and the rooms were basic and had shared bathroom facilities. It still made our stay in this wonderful place a memorable one and I look forward to visiting Chaing Khan in the future. The accommodation is on Soi 5 and is a short walk down to Walking Street which is full of Food Vendors, Shops and the Nighlife of Chaing Khan. Plus the views of the Mekong River and Laos from the walkway are stunning. If you’re prepared to wake up early, the owner will prepare some food for 50 baht to give to the monks who walk the streets for blessings – they passed the Ban Hao B&B around 6.25am, so you need to get up early to see this and something that Chaing Khan is special for.

Have you ever tried a " Container Hotel " ?!?
Reviewed By SamabatI was there to celebrate my birthday with my family. I made the booking like 30 mins before I arrived so only 1st-floor rooms were available. I recommend you to book the 2nd-floor so you can enjoy a higher view. The room space was a little bit small as it was made of the shipping container but what I like about this hotel was that the minibar items were free! and you can take away. The breakfast was good. There was one local food looks like noodles. I could not remember the name. You should try once you are in this province. if you would like to have a small dinner party outside the room, there is a space near the river with a cold wind. the staff will bring you like dishes, spoons, glasses and anything else that you need. But make sure that you won't make any loud noise to disturb any other guests. By the way, the owner is very kind. Thanks to him. My dad enjoyed sitting outside very much.
