The first inauguration of The Massimo Mila mountain hut was held on May 24th 2002, it was once, the accommodation of the Electrical central heating workers. The building is located at 1583 meters and looks out onto the lake of Ceresole Reale. It offers all the visitors comfortable accommodation both marriage room and dormitory, a reading room and a Restaurant providing all the specialities of the region, as for example, homemade pasta and cakes, and for meat lovers boar meat accompanied with polenta. The Orco Valley is also very famous for its Sport activities. Everyone will enjoy snowshoeing or skiing in winter and windsurfing, trekking or biking in summer and spring. Beside, don't forget to visit The Great Paradise natural park where it's easy to spot rock goats, groundhogs and a thousand different bird species. So come to visit us you won't regret it. The hut has two relax areas, and a wide library with any kind of guide book and photography book on the Gran Paradiso National Park. There is a nice dining room with a fireplace and a space to exhibit paintings and photographs, currently hosting a show of portraits on marmots, one of the symbols of the National Park. The external area has a big garden right on the lake of Ceresole Reale with wood tables and a big Gazebo to host gastronomic meetings, also Palamila, a wood covered theatre with a big stage to host operas, concerts, and any kind of events. However when my boyfriend and I came back this year we were happy to find the whole place reborn thanks to the care, the wonderful cooking and the worm hospitality offered by Roberto and Guela. The lake view and cozy rooms makes it the perfect destination for a romantic weekend getaway.

Reviewed By Lesley JThe staff make it, friendly & helpful but for vegans it's a no for breakfast as there's not even toast, however if you tell them beforehand they are most helpful & they got my son soya milk for the following day so that was really our fault. However pretty much next door is the smallest supermarket I have ever seen but you can buy breadsticks & provisions in there & either eat in the lounge/your room or outside in the grounds. Tea & coffee at reception for a small charge. The hotel itself is dark inside but I think they all seem to be with dark wood & small windows. The bed was comfortable & whilst there is no outside noise due to the windows being well insulated I was there with my son who was doing a race so there was a lot of noise with people milling round in the evening & early morning including us of course. I am sure this isn't the usual though as the other nights we were there it was quiet. I was in room 11 (my son in room 3) & they were a fair size. It appears to be the largest hotel here & if I was to return to this area I would stay here again. A huge thank you to all the staff there who got up at stupid o'clock to get the runners breakfast at 4am.

Reviewed By oggegbI’ve been there with my wife just for one night coming from a very long trip around the country and I must say this place is brilliant and the owners are lovely. Beautiful atmosphere, the food is supreme, the rooms are very cosy, it seems like stuck in time, a fairytale. Also the place is very handy due to the beautiful position it gives you the opportunity to explore the Alps around in just a few hours, and the prices are very honest. Highly recommend. We’ll stop by in our next Italian trip.
