Our stay was a true dream

After driving in a beautiful and quiet woodland road we finally discovered the stunning Yarner House and the friendly Phoebe and Lily who warmly welcomed us. We stayed 3 nights in The Wray Valley Room and we particularly enjoyed having a private bathroom across the corridor and the fully equipped common kitchen which makes us fully feel like home. The Yarner House is a castle like country house with the most fabulous view on the Dartmoor National Park and it looks even better in real life. I'll never forget the morning sunset view from our bedroom and the afternoon Cream Tea in the garden. Thank you Phoebe and Lily for your constant warmth and incredible patience. Our stay was a true dream and we are looking forward coming back soon!

Very disappointing service and food. Waitress split some of our drink on our phone and our dog in two separate occasions and didn’t apologise for either. Food very disappointing and dry as no gravy as advertised on the menu. Table was very sticky not great standards of cleanliness.

Very nice, clean, comfortable room with great assistance from very friendly guesthouse hosts - with always the willingness to go further than just a mile to do all means they can - to assist. Delicious breakfast being served in the dining area within the antique shop! Worth browsing antiques during my stay. Will definitely come back again. Strongly recommended.

A lovely apartment, wonderful hosts and a great location – 5 stars!

Reviewed By Alonschm

We, a family of two adults and two teenagers, had a lovely time in Helen’s and Neil’s Clarendon apartment. Helen and Neil are really super-hosts: when we checked in, everything needed for the first night was already provided for: milk, eggs, home baked bread and very tasty scones with cream and jam. Helen heard that our daughter has Celiac disease, and not only did she reference us to a nearby restaurant (“The Dolphin”) that has a gluten-free menu, but also provided gluten-free bread and a jar of gluten-free cookies. It was so considerate of her; my daughter was so excited and happy about that. The hosts were very friendly, and also provided us with everything else that we needed (and more!), without being too “present”’ which is exactly the balance what I expect from a thoughtful host. The apartment is very cozy, with a fully equipped kitchen and a dining place. However, the weather was so good, that we ate most out meals outside, at the beautiful back garden of the apartment. Quite, green, clean air – just what you expect from the English Countryside. The double bed as quite comfortable and the kids shared a sofa which was just fine for them. The apartment was quiet and very homelike. A parking place was provided. The house is strategically located in the small town of Bovey Tracey, which had all the facilities that we needed: a supermarket, a bakery, cafes and restaurants a short walking distance away. Bovey Tracey is on the edge of the Dartmoor national park, no wonder it’s nicknamed “The Gateway to the Moor”. It’s minutes away from the beautiful Becky Falls and Canonteign falls, and less than a hour drive from Lydford Gorge which is located on the other side of the moor. All in all – very recommended for everyone who wants to enjoy and relax in the Dartmoor area.

Sublime

A truly lovely place to stay. I was in the suite for 3 days. It is a spacious high ceiling room but the best part of it was the balcony that opens up in front of the bed. I enjoyed spending the warm evenings chilling outside. Host was lovely and the breakfast was healthy and plentiful. I would recommend it to anyone.
