Felt like sleeping in a cross between a smelly cave and a care home.

Came to stay for two nights with a mate before climbing snowdon. We first noticed how the building isn’t kept well, a lot of clutter and smells going on. We went to the bar to get our keys, and were shown to our room. The hotel really didn’t smell great, a really musky care home comes to mind and the room was really dusty and it was clear it was cleaned in a hurry. The food was OK. Beer was good. But then every evening we dreaded going back to the room. Wouldn’t stay here again. Also there are some reeeaaaaallllly creepy pictures of dolls on the walls. Pics of dolls and the thick Peter of dust and cobwebs on the headboard.

Not going to repeat what other reviews have already mentioned, but staff were super nice, it's more of a cabin than a tent as it has everything you could possibly need. We had a lovely time and that's because they genuinely have thought about everything you could need for a stay. The location is great, can't get bored really as there are so many activities nearby.

I called John as the infrastructure for EVs around Wales is pretty poor, I booked an alternative place to stay prior to owning an ev so didn't think about off road parking or charging. I called John to ask for some help as he was a 15minute walk away, he didn't hesitate to offer up a charger for me overnight at a fair price.

Disappointing

Reviewed By Dee S

We were very disappointed with our weeks stay in Isallt Guest house. We received an email TOO Late for the option to cancel , if we were not happy about the breakfast in a bag . We think Covid is being used as an excuse . We can go into restaurants / shops / bars etc and sit down and eat ! We thought it was also a coffee shop ( as advertised ) BUT it isn’t . The room ( 6 ) in the attic , is the family room. We booked this so we could have a larger room. Very tired furnishings ( a child size wardrobe ) ONLY one bedside lamp - which Richard did rectify - but thought we were both odd for asking ! There is however a fridge & microwave . It was clean , thank fully . Extremely noisy road, opposite the shop traffic, lorries and street cleaning at 6:40AM . I know that is not Richard’s fault - but guests need to be aware . Sorry , but we will not return and will not be recommending.

Disappointing poorly run establishment

Reviewed By larambuk

On arrival the reception staff were lovely and they allowed us to drop our bags in the room even though it wasn’t quite ready so we could lighten the load for an afternoon on the motorbike. The room and hotel was very clean and modern with a nice touch of a welcome note in the room. Unfortunately that’s where the positives end…The morning breakfast was a let down for us, there was no information as to what was included in our breakfast and no information was offered by the staff. Cereal and bread to toast would have been nice (and expected) to help ourselves to but it wasn’t an option, I was disappointed with the breakfast that arrived and although included in the room rate if i’d arrived as a walk in patron and paid £9.95 for what arrived I would have asked for my money back!! (£9.95 is for what you get shown in the photo attached) I hoped our disappointment would end there, but after been out all day on our second day we arrived back and the room hadn’t been serviced, when we mentioned this to reception They did say they’d sort the room for us straight away but after just arriving back we didn’t want to be turfed out whilst this was done so declined and just asked for replenishment of the tea/coffee and milk which arrived promptly afterwards. We didn’t bother going for breakfast the next morning choosing to eat out elsewhere instead. If I could ask booking.com for a partial refund I would. Everything above was mentioned to reception on check out and a half hearted apology was received. No doubt the hotel will respond to this stating they are continuing with staff training, however, it obviously isn’t working!!
