Some time with wash the washroom glass but not always. Service attitude of of staff like in the restaurant can be improve.

Stayed for a week and was so happy I chose this hotel!
Reviewed By matthieu123I stayed for a week and booked a suite at the Howard Johnson in Bengbu. This hotel is really nice and has everything you need. I stayed in a suite on the 21st floor and loved the views. The suite had a nice living room along with 2 bathrooms. Location: Located in the center of the city, nothing is too far away. There is a new mall just across the street which has 2 supermarkets/department stores, various other stores and a few restaurants. In the other direction, about 15mins walk is a park with lots of activity on the weekends. Across the street is lots of street food which was nice! Room: The room was always cleaned well and service was prompt. When we requested extra towels or coffee it was always done. When we first arrived I noticed the carpets had a little stain, but that's the only negative. The room comes with slippers, a robe and was always very comfortable. Service: The service was always friendly. Most staff try to help in English, but there are only a few that can actually provide assistance in English. Amenitites: I chose not to get the breakfast included so the room was cheaper. Plenty of people would show up for breakfast, and I wished I tried it once. The fitness center is larger than most hotels and has everything you need from dumbbells to machines and treadmills. There is an indoor pool as well but I did not use it, but it looked good. Reputation: The hotel has a beautiful lobby, has 26 floors and stands out as a top hotel in the city. When we had guests over, or people stop by they always commented how nice it was. Taxi drivers all know the hotel as well. When booking ahead, we weren't sure if this was the right place or not. Now after the trip, we are so happy we stayed here!

The hotel is very old.(one of the oldest in the city i was told) The age of the hotel is very evident, the floors are worn giving way to gapes in the wood, there are even parts of it missing. The walls looked like they have not been cleaned (or fixed) in years. (I uploaded pictures) there is free water in the room in the form of a water cooler much like in an office. (Also worn and dirty) Bed was okay if you do not look under it. A little hard, very big and a nice amount of pillows. The matress though was disgustingly stained. (But the sheets smelled of bleach) Shower was pitifull, i actually could not stand up straight or i would hit my head on the ceiling. The washroom was also in a very sad state, tiles missing and poor craftsmanship in other places. (free toothbrushes, comb and soap) the shower soap and shampoo are the typical dispenserstyle on the wall. The heater barely worked and i wore my jacket (and shoes) when i was in the hotel. Though the blackout curtains were nice. (Window was in poor shape and there was a slight breeze whenbit was closed.) Free in room internet was decently fast at most times, but the wifi signal was hard to get and keep. The hotel staff was very friendly, and they provide a free breakfast (i did not try sorry, but the restaurant looked okay) I would never recommend this hotel to anyone, there are nicer hotels in better condition in the city. Pros, well it is right across from.the slow train station and bus stops. Kfc, dicos close buy, mcdonalds and food street a very quick bus or taxi ride away.
