Dinner and cocktails

Stopped here for dinner. We didn’t have a reservation but it was no trouble to seat eight of us. The staff are very friendly. This place is a must see for Game of thrones fans. Loved how dogs were welcome, maybe I’ll bring mine next time. I ordered the burger and chunky fries. They were delicious. Well portioned and reasonably priced. I also had a couple of pornstar martinis which were just perfect. The whole group were very pleased with their meals. I was so impressed that I decided to book a night to stay here in July. Can’t wait to return.

Below Par for Northern Ireland

Recent reviews and web site pictures persuaded us that this would be a good B&B. We were disappointed. There was no-one around when we arrived, but we found a note with a phone number to call: The dead plants on the landing and corridor gave an uncared for impression, that persisted throughout our stay. We could not operate the TV easily, and the range of channels was limited - no BBC 1 or 2. Moving on, the shower was shabby/dirty as was the hand basin with no plug! Breakfast was very limited, with no alternative offered to an Irish plate that arrived with no discussion as to what we might like/not like. We left as we arrived, with little interest shown (unusual in Northern Ireland) Regrettably the website description flatters, compared to what we experienced.

Grateful to this ethical business

Reviewed By John W

We did not actually stay, however I thought it worth making an excellent review in the circumstances. We had booked, but had to cancel our entire trip a couple of days out due to an acute family illness. Despite being beyond the cancellation policy period, they agreed o waive the fee, I am guessing on compassionate grounds. I therefore recommend this business as customer friendly and ethical, which is not always the case, in todays world. We intend to stay if we get to go to Northern Ireland in the future.

Wonderful place to stay

Reviewed By Ulsterrugby1

Very clean, comfortable room with welcome brownies and fluffy dressing gowns. Lovely facilities, views and just about the best host you could ever wish for in Natasha. Nothing was any trouble to her and when they say dog friendly, the mean dog very friendly. We also had our 16 month old grandson with us and he was nearly as welcome as the dogs?. Breakfast was excellent, varied and plentiful. Juices, fresh fruit, cereals, toast, jam and a great Ulster fry. Felt so welcome and was able really relax - thank you so much Natasha from Trew, Michael, baby Fíonn and the two dogs, oonagh and Aoife.

Let’s give it another chance .

So to lunch in the Salthouse . My last review was not glowing and sad to say things have not improved. Service I would rate 100 %. Attentive and knowledgeable waitress . Beautiful room , superb view. I ordered chowder .A more miserly plate could not have been presented. Bones floating in plain sight and one tiny slice of wheaten bread . What on earth is going on in this kitchen? Who sent that miserable dish out? Probably the worst place to eat in Ballycastle. Never again .

The hosts were very welcoming and helpful - they also served the best traditional Irish breakfast of our entire trip. We would definitely stay here again!

A very nice place to stay

Reviewed By Marianne S

We spent 1 night at Martin's B&B and regretted not booking an extra night there. The room was spacious with 2 twinbeds, everything was spotless and clean. Big bathroom with complimentary shampoo/conditioner and toothpaste. The breakfast was just wonderful with a big selection of cereals, fresh berries, yogurts, juice and Martin was almost disappointed that we didn't want any eggs and bacon. And it was really quiet there. Not a sound :-) Definitely one of the best places that I have ever stayed at. Thanks Martin for a great stay. Your hospitality and place are really awesome.

Apartment Stay

Stayed there for few nights with wife and two babies, had a great time. Only found out after we had booked the apartment that they offer apartments with hot tubs, Lisa the super friendly receptionist sorted us with upgrade and also with travel cots and high chair, although it was quiet the few days we there, had everything on site, also a wee kids park and only a 10 minute walk to Ballycastle, a great stay in the Causeway Coast with all attractions close by!
