Charming and rustic
Reviewed By Daniele IA charming hotel high in the mountains above Asserge / L’Aquila. My room was pleasant and comfortable enough and of what was to be expected of an hotel in a location such as this... in other words, very rustic in feel, ambience and appearance. The dining (and breakfast) room downstairs was also pleasant and welcoming, and offered a nice variety of mealtime foods. The locality seems popular with outdoor pursuit tourists and also with motorcyclists.

Soggiorno da ostello poco curato
Reviewed By MacAirAbbiamo soggiornato all "hotel" durante l epifania e l impressione che si ha a soggiornarci e' pessima e non all altezza di un tre stelle e relativa tariffe. Principali difetti: stanze da ristrutturare (anni 80, piumino macchiato, luci non funzionanti, tv scatolotto mivar non audibile), rumorose ( si puo' sentire lo scarico della stanza accanto, le urla dei bambini ed i motori di aerazione come se fossero accanto a voi), colazione da caritas (brioches bruciate, caffe imbevibile), manca completamente il servizio per le stazione sciistiche (mappe, cartine, convenzioni per ski). Sconsigliamo vivamente.

Reviewed By Claudia FIf you want to feel at home this is the place . Each room is unique in its kind: jacuzzi, sauna and solarium! The owner is very sweet and tries to fulfill every request. in addition to the fabulous place there are animals that if you want you can keep company. The dog of the owner is gorgeous and friendly allowed me to spend a beautiful afternoon to enjoy myself!!

Reviewed By Julie NArrived after a four hour journey, from the airport, bit of a nightmare, so it was now dark, checked in at the reception, walked to our bungalow which was situated right by the pool, then walked out to go for a drink, only five minutes away from the Europa centre where all the bars and restaurants are .

The B&B is 2 km from the ski resort of Campo Imperatore, less than 1km from the National Laboratories of the Gran Sasso (INFN) and 15 km from L'Aquila. The structure is new and is composed of small apartments with independent entrances, each with a living area with TV, furnished angle kitchen, a sleeping area and bathroom. There is ample private parking, a garden with a playground for children

Reviewed By Luca_stonebirdsOne of the best B&B we had the pleasure to stay. Spacious, clean rooms with kitchenette. Generous breakfast with gorgeous home made cakes and crostata. But above all Mario and the staff were incredible friendly and felt like we were home. Very nice place few km away from l'Aquila and campo imperatore. Good solution to visit all nice places and villages around. Family friendly and pizzeria and restaurants very close. Little playground just in front of the building very helpful if you are travelling with kids. Great value for money. Mario prepared breakfast in a bag since we had to leave early in the morning and gave us extra snacks for the long trip ahead. Felt like being a regular customer who had been there for years. Thanks Mario!

Since 2006 it had been a straw-stack (upstairs) and a cow-house downstairs, where now you can have your breakfast, rich in local specialties.We can offer 4 rooms (with bathrooms) and an apartment with kitchen.We organize for you themed trips (food, wine, hermitage...) driving you by our minibus, or, if you want, by mountain bikes or snowshoeing. We hope you'll choose to spend your holidays in Gran Sasso, enjoying in summer as in winter our unpolluted places.See you soon, Ermanno and Peppe

Reviewed By Tom PWe have just come back from a week in Italy, and chose to visit Gran Sasso national park for some stunning countryside and to escape the busy tourism of Rome. We stayed at Le Pagliare del Gran Sasso for 3 nights. It was absolutely wonderful, the owners were extremely welcoming, kind and helpful, advising us on various places to visit, eat etc, and even give us extra food to take up the mountains for lunch! The building has been expertly restored in the historic, crumbly but peaceful village of Assergi. Both the room we stayed in and the breakfast area were very clean, well maintained with excellent facilities and lots of charming character to boot. We used this as a base to explore the surrounding area by car. I'd recommend anyone wanting some epic mountain scenery to visit the area and stay at Le Pagliare del Gran Sasso.

Reviewed By BombaroloDefinitely one of the hotels were I found the kindest hosts. Even arriving in the middle of the night (2:30AM), waking up subsequently late, booking at the very last minute, I always found smiley and ready-to-help guys. My choice every time I get there (and it happens quite often for work).
