We travelled with my 11 months old son..First they took us to a room.which had lizard droppings in bed and the floor was sticky..we asked to clean the room.but the worker was very rude..in extra bed provided it was very unclean and I could see lizards droppings all over .I got amazed since I specifically mentioned this was for my son..Next they took to another room. We asked to clean the room again..but the worker for the namesake cleaned and told it's tough to maintain.and compared to first room reptiles were less..In the night we took shift since leaches falling from roof ..yes yes..I am not exaggerating..The bathroom is open air.. Only thing to look is view..view was spectacular and food is also good..and other that the resort has to improve alooooooooottttttttt.... see if they are asking this much price per day..they have to try to give some time for maintenance..

WISH I NEVER CAME HERE

I am surprised that this place got such high reviews on Travel Trip. My standards/ expectations are higher The room is ok - large but lacks flavor/ flow The outdoor bathroom is ok - large but lacks flavor/ flow The private verandah is of no use - uncared grass/ hardly any plants The premises are so disappointing & uncared for - especially after the swimming pool - its like a junk yard to me - even 3 star hotels have better maintained outdoor premises The area around the the cottages is tolerable - needs a lot of upgrading. The pond where the kayaks are is dirty & uninviting. The swimming pool is small. The open drain running through the property is full of green moss, The beach is public - most hotels have public beaches but the hotels still maintain the area leading till the beaches - this is standard practice There is no tv in the room - fine - but then the other facilities that you offer should be good enough. There is lack of maintenance all over the place except the cottages/ restaurant/ pool I have just come from the Brunton Boatyard at Kochi - it was a perfect 10 - this place is a 2 - 1 for the room/ bathroom & 1 for the staff - the staff are good but the management needs to maintain this place - its a total rip off at 11k a night - except the cottage/restaurant/pool the resort premises are a total junkyard - wish i never came Avoid this hotel - i am from chennai - the 3 star beach hotels outside Chennai on the coast have better maintained premises

It is near the Lake with house boat and shikara running around. But the approach road is as if you are entering the village. Only 1 vehicle can pass. The property is too good to relax and offers massage as well. The big Private park is too good as then you will be able to see surroundings and relax

Marari Beach Resort

Marari Beach sprawls across 55 acres of lawns, far-flung lotus ponds and whispering coconut groves, all threaded through with stone- flagged pathways. Living: Modelled on the fishermens' dwellings of Mararikulam, your accommodations are a fine balance between traditional form and modern function. Dining: At Marari Beach, you can enjoy the simple traditional dishes of the fisherfolk (along with, of course , a variety of international cuisine favourites) at our verandah- style restaurant. Dinners are candlelit, often with live music. Healing: Marari Beach has a fully equipped ayurvedic centre, so you can get all the benefits of this ancient system of medicine. Put yourself in the hands of our expert masseuses and you'll feel reborn. There are also regular yoga classes on the beach, in the thick of a cool coconut grove. The locale, we're told, does wonders for your inner serenity. Need we say more?

Sterling Lake Palace Alleppey

Alleppey, also named as ‘Venice of the East’ by the Viceroy of India Lord Curzon, is one of the oldest trading centers, bridging India’s ties with Greece and Rome during the Middle Ages. The culture of Alleppey has its soul defined in the ‘Sangam Era’ with art, literature, social and economic collaborations with Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Sri Lanka. It also draws its influence from the Dutch and Portuguese settlers of 12th Century, which established Christianity in the region. Sterling Lake Palace Alleppey Resort is centrally located in 14 acres of lush greenery and calm water bodies, parallel to the Vembanad lake. Built with a private lagoon surrounded by backwaters, the resort features 58 luxurious rooms and suites, overlooking the Vembanad Lake – the longest freshwater lake in India. The resort also boasts an Ayurvedic spa, water sports, exotic flavors of the coast and delectable global cuisines. Want to relax? Check out the incredible island swimming pool, and sip your favourite cocktail poolside, while taking in the beauty around you.

Xandari Riverscapes

Xandari Riverscapes Life on the backwaters has a different set of rules. First, since there are no roads we depend on canals, rivers and lakes for our travel routes. Most families have a boat of their own. Children often learn to swim at least as early as they learn to walk-you are likely to see kids splashing in the local equivalent of a playground. Their school buses float, as do the postal vessels delivering to homes here. Even the supermarket floats!River Escapes provides an experience of the backwaters of Kerala in a vessel whose history harkens back to the ancient rice trade of this region while also providing modern comforts. These vessels are designed to balance authenticity and innovation. They are engineered to balance comfort and environmental responsibility - we pioneered the technology now considered the gold standard of emissions reduction. Most importantly they are staffed by members of the local community who are proud to showcase their corner of God's Own Country to visitors.A unique set of waterways in our state's central region allows us to showcase three districts that represent the "rice bowl" of Kerala - all by boat. We started operating our houseboats in 2006 and are now the respected leader on the backwaters in terms of environmental responsibility, commitment to the communities where we bring visitors and in terms of guest satisfaction.

Had a life time memorable experience at Xandari 3 bhk house boat with family. One night stay and cruise on 14-15 th May 2022. Xandari opens the window to nature's wonder at Pallathurithi. The staff at Xandari made it special with their hospitality. Rooms and wash rooms were clean and tidy with AC and cupboard facilities. Bedding was comfortable and they provided extra beds for the extra people. Welcome drink was the traditional coconut water. Lunch was NADAN traditional Kerala lunch with Karimeen ( fish) Fry. Evening tea with banana fry was good. They stopped for canoe which was the highlight of the package and stole the deal. They stopped for fresh water live fish and lobster purchase as well. Dinner was awesome with lobster fry, chicken curry, chicken fry, fish curry, chappathi, rice etc. In the morning they served us dosa, idli, chatni, sambar, bread, butter, jam, omlet, fruits, pineapple juice etc.. The best thing is the staff are so friendly and we can customize the menu as per our needs. Xandari riverscapes and their staff made the stay memorable. We will definitely visit Xandari whenever we decide for Aleppy house boating to blend with the nature's beauty.
