The best available Hostels hotel to stay near Trentino-Alto Adige

April 27, 2023 Ying Subia

Trentino-Alto Adige is made up of two provinces, the Italian-leaning Trento (or Trentino) in the south and the Germanic-leaning Alto Adige (or Südtirol, and also called Bolzano-Bozen, just to keep things interesting) in the north. Home to numerous picturesque towns, castles and historic sights, the main attraction here is the mountains. The stars of these are the Dolomites. Outdoor adventure opportunities abound year-round, with skiing, climbing and hiking among the most popular pursuits.

Clean, simple and friendly place

simple but very clean rooms. Good breakfast and in respect of all COVID prescriptions, which make it more complex for the staff to manage guests but nonetheless they were really efficient. Only negative aspect has been the noise as the sound insulation of the rooms was not so good. But for the price we paid we couldn’t pretend too much and, on the other side, the host was extremely kind, welcoming and helpful. We really appreciated our stay.

Not bad given the lack of affordable options in Bolzano

Reviewed By David Z

I noticed a sign at reception saying something along the lines of 'No refunds for previously-booked nights' but didn't think much of it. Then, after trying to sleep in a room that could either a) be stinky and hot without a window open or b) incredibly noisy due to train and street noise, I wanted to leave a night early but they told me I wouldn't get any money back if I did. This seemed strict given the circumstances, but I sucked it up. Wifi was also pretty bad, so don't plan on getting any work done or streaming videos here. Aside from that, things were okay. The breakfast was one of the better free breakfasts I've had in the covid era of hostelling, and the staff was able to lend me a charger since I'd forgotten mine.

Great stop for food after a good hike

Reviewed By simonjx

The hut is easy to reach on foot via a dirt road in around 1h from the Auronzo hut. I had a stop there after a good hike. The food is truly delicious. I had a BBQ plate, which was really great. The price was ok, not too expensive. For a mountain hut I was surprised of the good food quality. Service is very friendly too. I didn't overnight so I cannot comment on that.

Such a wonderful visit and welcome from the staff at the refuge. Excellent two night stay good food and hospitality. Access to the refuge is not for the inexperienced, specialised equipment and skills required. Truly the best rifugio we have ever visited clean and homely with simple fare, far beyond our expectations given the location.

Great Experience

Reviewed By zsoltk693

For very reasonable prices, Rifugio Rosetta delivers everything it promises and more. It is not a five-star hotel with room service, jacuzzi and a big screen TV in every room. It is an efficiently run family business, a busy hütte high up in the mountains. They have enough staff to handle large weekend crowds with a smile. I have been in many hüttes in the Alps, and this friendly rifugio will not disappoint. I loved it there.
