Hostel Mazatlan

“Hostal Mazatlan / Hostel” it is a contemporary building of the 1900’s located in the historic downtown. It is a Project of Young entrepreneur from Mazatlan. We begin the day with a dark Mexican cup of coffee (like should be), fresh fruit and a delicious banana bread made it by us, that is our breakfast! Just 5 blocks from the “Mercado Municipal Pino Suarez”, considered the heart of the city with more than 100 years of history, where you can get a wide variety of regional products as well as souvenirs. 7 blocks from “paseo Olas Altas” the best place to enjoy the sunset with fresh seafood and a refreshing drink. If you´re interested about history we are located a few blocks from the Anthropology Museum, Art museum, Archeology Museum, the Angela Peralta theatre and the Cathedral. You can explore the city riding a bike along the 11 km of the “malecon”, also hike one of the highest natural and operating lighthouse in the world, we will lend you a bike.

Hotel y Hostel Guerrero

Fortified with breakfast

A relaxed, easygoing place with a decent breakfast. There is room to hand-wash clothes in the patio and they dry rapidly, although the place can get quite cold at night. They display a Copper Canyon timetable but the railway website is useless and doesn't say how to book tickets, so I didn't bother with it. I met one person who had tried to get a ticket on the train at El Fuerte but was turned away. As a consolation, a walk to the riverside is rewarding and entertaining if you're there at weekends. Also be warned that the bus from El Fuerte to Los Mochis can take 2 hours, so allow plenty of time if you've got a bus connection.

I was really surprised as to none of the locals knew of this place! The staff was really great and friendly i loved the fruit left after the room was cleaned! The jacuzzi was a plus since it was empty most of the nights we were able to go up to the Terrence and view the sunset while relaxing in it! Great place that i would love to go back to.
