Staying in Venice a&o

The overall staying was ok, we had a shared bedroom with only women for 2 nights. Everything was really fine a part for the cleanliness of the toilets. The bidet was very dirty and also a bit the shower. A part from that even if is in mestre the connection with the center of Venezia are well organized and very close to the hostel.

Generator Venice

Generator Venice stands on the waterfront of the island of Giudecca, one shortstop on the Vapporetto from Piazza San Marco. Our Venice hotel was originally a warehouse, so the building blends history and character with contemporary design features. Inside the hotel, you’ll find luxurious mosaic floors, a glass chandelier, and an imposing stone fireplace. Public spaces are subtly split into intimate and open-plan areas – all surrounding the bar and cafe. Every room has a view of either the gardens, Lido, Grande Canal, or the iconic San Marco. Not bad, eh? -- Please note that due to the global pandemic, some venues, amenities, and services may have been eliminated or scaled down for the safety of our guests and staff. Please contact the hotel should you have any questions or concerns.

Will cost you €7 everytime you want to get on the island or leave the island unless you buy day/week travel pass. Charged €135 for one night to have a locker with a broken lock so couldn’t leave personal belongings in room when going out, people drinking alcohol outside reception on hostel furniture and being loud until after 1am in the morning preventing me from sleeping, broken lock on toilet door, broken items in shower and unhelpful staff. Beware, advice stay on main island with a local company/person and avoid this chain. They don’t care about your well being just taking your money!

The hostel has everything you need and is very clean. However it is huuge and the vibe is more like in a business hotel than in a hostel. The kitchen is nearly impossible to cook - the fridges are bursting full and there are nearly no pans…

Foresteria Valdese Venezia

The Foresteria Valdese is one of the guest houses of the Waldensian and Methodist Church in Italy. We are a non-profit making guest house: our mission is to create value to our customers and the income is used to fund and sustain social projects in Italy and in the world for youth and elderly people. The house is just few minutes away from St. Mark's Square and Rialto Bridge. It offers to its guests a warm and welcoming environment in a typical eighteenth century palace and it is a perfect starting point to visit such a magic city as Venice is. The Foresteria offers bed and breakfast accommodation for singles, couples, families and groups. No AC, we have fans in the rooms. Some rooms are with canal view and some are decorated with frescoes. We have bedrooms for 1/2/3/4 people and family rooms for 6/8/9 people. They all have either ensuite or private bathrooms. Breakfast hall is also available for your own picnic, you can use 2 fridges and 1 microwave. Concert hall is also available for conferences. Every 5 days we change the linen. Some rooms have TV, and there is a TV in 2nd floor near the children corner. Hairdryer is present in many rooms or is available in reception.

Lovely Hotel/Hostel with Canal View

Reviewed By Mmabesa

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. After reading other reviews and seeing photo's of other rooms, it would have been a real treat to receive a room with delicate fresco's. Our room was plain, clean, 2 single beds pushed together on the 3rd floor . . a very narrow winding staircase to get to the room. We had a wonderful view of the canal, and I'm glad we did. We took a water taxi to our stop, and had quite a walk to get to the hotel over bridges, and lots' of stairs. My husband used his phone to GPS and follow streets to arrive at the hotel. The hotel itself is charming, there is a grand piano and seating on the second floor I believe it was. We were fortunate to experience a piano solo on evening, a lovely young woman was performing and it was truly amazing. The breakfast room is community style, full of long community tables and beautiful china cabinets and furniture make it homey. There is a seating area if you want to relax and books to read. The breakfast is moderate but adequate, and we did not have a problem with it knowing we would be enjoying a excellent Venetian lunch during our day. Rolls, jams, cream cheese, cereal, yogurt, coffee, tea, juice and the like. There is a community fridge for all to use if you wanted to supply food/snacks of your own. There were student groups there, and a variety of tourists. There is no air conditioning but the fan worked fine and cooled the room. There is a bit of construction going on outside, we stayed on a weekend and was not affected by it, but they were working on it when we checked out. I would recommend this hotel, it is off the beaten path, and unlike some other reviews we found it quiet and comfortable. From this hotel we were able to enjoy all the charm of the restaurants and shops. We enjoyed our stay here, it was a recommended to us which was a big part of our decision to stay.

I stay with my friend for two nights and everything was great. The room is clean and no smell. Coffee in a vending machine at the hotel taste good. Quite small room but we go outside to visit other places in Venice all day anyway. The receptionist is friendly and helpful. A restaurant is nearby. For ones who have limited budget, this hotel is a good choice. We enjoy our trip in Venice and will visit again.

Welcome to the newest hostel in Venice, Italy. Our property is only 5-minute walk away from Piazza San Marco and is located between the two main pavilions of the Biennale (the arsenal and gardens). Our rooms are comfortable and cozy and we always want to make sure that our guests fell like home.

Stayed in this hostel in company of three friends while visiting Architecture Biennale in Venice. Not only that this hostel has a perfect location for Biennale visitors but also has a stunning view from a rooftop terrace. Rooms were average but clean and great for the price we paid. We were lucky to experience one of hostel’s rooftop terrace parties where staff generously brought Italian food, wine and music. Can’t express how surprised and grateful we were for this lovely and relaxing evening on the terrace with a great view and friendly company. Will be definitely back next year for Art Biennale. Thank you!

Worse than possible

First of all.. at 10 degrees Celsius during an October night, considering the humidity, you should have working heating. My partner and I both got very sick staying here. Secondly, there was no toilet paper OR soap half the time I went to the bathroom. It smells. It smells very badly of mold, to a level of health concern. The promised WiFi connection was not available in our room or anywhere past the reception. And finally, ZERO Covid-19 rules were followed. No one was asked to wear a mask, people coughed and sneezing in all common areas, care-free. Also.... THE BED IS SO ITCHY, AND NOW SO ARE ALL MY CLOTHES! Is this place ever legal to run...? These are the bare minimum basics. If I could rate it with a minus, I would. Sh**hole.

DO NOT STAY HERE

Reviewed By Anniepg1999

Stayed at this hostel with 2 of my friends and booked a mixed dorm room as we had been travelling for a month so far and had no trouble, on our last night it was just us 3 and one other guy in our 6 person dorm room. Everything was fine until he came back drunk late during the night and started harassing us. The man tried to climb into my bed and was verbally harassing us, we are 3 teenage girls and this was our first time travelling, with us feeling extremely uncomfortable and not wanting anything else to happen to us we complained to the staff. It was looking promising as the staff member followed us back to our dorm, when he got to the room the man was pretending to be asleep and so we told him this and the staff member said to him “if you do anything again we will call the police,” that was it. We told the staff member that we felt uncomfortable in that environment and felt harassed and he did nothing but excused it? disgusting. The staff member then proceeded to tell us that it was our fault that we booked mixed dorms and that he would only do something if it happened again? inexcusable. The fact that this man who harassed us is currently sleeping soundly with no repercussions whilst we have to remove ourself from the situation crying and panicking is absolutely disgusting. I’m sick of men harassing young girls and getting away with it, this needs to stop. I blame this hostel for their lack of involvement in helping us out when we needed it and hope this experience never happens to anyone again.
