The farm holidays is an old farmhouse, wisely restyled, composed by 4 apartments which maintain the country style but have the modern comforts required to spend a pleasant holidays between the beauties of Umbria and Tuscany. Toys for children, a lot of relax spaces with beds are in the middle of a big garden available for our hosts where you can play any kind of sport, read a book with quiete atmosphere. Outside you can find a barbeque. Out back-land is rich of green fruits which you will find over the table too every day. At last the relaxable context, our 4-foots-friends which are going to stay with you all the time. Bicycle available ! We are a family-run business endowed with the passion of those who always did what they believed in
Umbrian hospitality at it's best
Reviewed By Nathan CAfter being washed away by heavy rain from a campeggio in western Tuscany, we were forced into finding a new accommodation, and preferably not another camping this time. Luckily, we soon found an available apartment at this Agriturismo near lake Trasimeno.This concurrence of events couldn't have turned out any better! Upon our arrival we were very warmly welcomed by the hostess, Eleonora. She enthousiastically showed us the neatly furnished apartment including a kitchen with dishwasher, the animals that reside in the garden (donkey, chickens, goats, horse...), the large vegetable garden and the laundry room. She told us as intelligable as possible in Italian that we could pick fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs from the garden and eggs from the chickens whenever we needed anything. And so we enjoyed the fresh tomatoes, onions, and more every day during our stay. We didn't use the nice family barbecue that's also in the garden, though. When we didn't enjoy the tranquillity from one of the many terraces in the garden and on the roof, we went on a trip to lake Trasimeno, Perugia, Arezzo, Cortona, Montepulciano or another magnet in the vicinity of Castiglione del Lago, which by the way is picturesque of it's own as well. When we wanted to stay an extra night, a transfer from one apartment to another (the place was almost fully booked) was no problem at all. They even helped us move our heavy bags! The only downsides I could find are the (not so busy) railroad around the corner, no wifi, and the lack of a swimming pool (which I wouldn't have used anyway). This, however, was more than adequately compensated by Eleonora's warm welcome, her homemade biscotti, nonno Francesco's hardly intelligable Italian stories (he just talks louder when he notices you don't understand him), his tasty biologically produced olive oil and Merlot wine, and of course the surroundings. Agriturismo Doce Verde is definitely worth a recommendation!

Ancient Palazzo with very nice pool
Reviewed By memberHollandWe stayed for a week in this old palazzo with very uneven floors on the top floor. Our apartment was freshly painted and very authentic. Reception of 4G data and wifi was bad. Most people stayed for only one or two nights and spended a lot of time at the pool. Because the palazzo is on a hill, The temperature is less high than at lake level. Biggest drawbacks are the roads from the lake to the palazzo. Maximum speed is 30 km because of poor maintenance. The last 2 km to the Palazzo is a gravel road that is very narrow in one place where you have to pass between two houses while making a turn. At 3 km there is one bar/pizzaria and a Conad City. A normal supermarket is situated at 12 km. Breakfast consist of fresh made coffee and sweet pastry and some yoghurt with some fruit. We enjoyed our week in Umbria but I am sure there are better places to stay in the neighbourhood.

Reviewed By AccordingToJoI've travelled to over 50 countries in my life. This is the one and only accommodation venue I've ever checked out of early. My only regret is that I wish I had trusted my instincts and done so on arrival, instead of giving it the benefit of the doubt and sticking it out for one night. We've had great experiences in Italian agriturismis in the past few months, but this one is the exception. The outside is beautiful. The countryside is splendid. But it's not enough to overcome everything else. - There is nobody based on-site if you need something or something goes wrong. In fact, there was nobody there when we arrived and we had to ring a mobile phone number and wait for someone to arrive by car and check us in. - It was evident from the outset that they had lost our accommodation booking. Their only record was the print-out of the email correspondence I had with me which confirmed all the details. - They gave us a room which had not been aired out and smelt of drainage issues. - The cot we request for our 2 year old was not provided; instead, when pressed, they gave us an unstable single rollaway bed, which they dumped with us before they sped away in their car and left to set up ourselves. She fell out of it in the middle of the night and cut the side of her face open. We would have been safer sleeping in the car. - The on-site restaurant we booked for dinner on the first night turned out to be shut. - The towels provided for us were left on a trolley in the bathroom under a leaking shower head, so were wet and usable - The TV did not work - The bathroom was so small that the bidet was basically inside the shower - Breakfast was mostly inedible. It included stale cornetti which must have been at least 3 days old Against our better judgment, given how remote we were, we stayed for one night. But we were not making the mistake of staying on for two. We left without raising these complaints with the lady because (1) she seemed completely disinterested; and (2) we just wanted this whole sorry experience over. As I said though, the outside of this property and the countryside around it is beautiful. I particularly enjoyed the tree-lined road as we left, never to return.

Reviewed By Robert JWe spent two lovely months in Casamaggiore, and came to know Anna and her family well. The property is beautifully sited and maintained, and they are wonderful hosts, helpful and kind. The surrounding country is agricultural and peaceful, yet within easy reach of a number of towns, many of great historical interest, such as Chiusi, Montepulciano and Panicale. At the heart of the area is Lago Trasimeno and the holiday town of Castiglione del Lago, where there are a number of fine restaurants.

This fantastic location will make you relax and completely appreciate colors, perfumes and magical views in which you will think you are dreaming. The farmhouse has been recently renovated in order to offer to its guests four vacation apartments. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The furnishings are luxurious and include wooden furniture, wrought iron beds and elegant lamps. The kitchens are well equipped so that all your culinary skills can be exercised. The farmhouse is surrounded by 60 hectares cultivated with cereals and olive groves. This field, in a protected natural park area, is populated with hares, wild boars, deers and pheasants. You will find warm colors and intense fragrances. On the grounds is the house which was birthplace of St. Margaret of Cortona, who spent the first years of her life in Laviano. Just a few steps from the estate there is the small Santa Margherita church, built in the 14th century.

Reviewed By ariannaf1234Siamo stati 5 giorni in questo agriturismo. Sotto ogni aspetto ci siamo trovati benissimo. Tranquillità, gentilezza dei proprietari e vista spettacolare. Inoltre qualche mattina i proprietari ci lasciavano i raccolti dell’orto a nostra disposizione. Posizione strategica tra Umbria e Toscana, anche se noi abbiamo girato prevalentemente la Val d’Orcia ma comunque fattibile come viaggi in macchina. Tutto è tenuto molto bene, dalla pulizia delle stanze ai tavolini con vista e la piscina Lo consiglierei sia a coppie che famiglie!

Excellent maintained property in which the recently installed airconditioning was a welcome surprise!! The pool area is luxurious and a perfect place to spend a day (or more). Thank you Simona (and all your staff) for a great week!
