Simply amazing, a piece of heaven!
Reviewed By Adrian LWell, where to start? First of all, our hosts were amazing! The hostess makes you feel truly like home. She even gave us pickles, veggies and "zacusca" for the road, like a caring mum :) The place is impeccable, so clean that one cannot believe it. The food is GREAT! Authentic, traditional, Romanian food, cooked and served with love. You get the chance to pick your own vegetables from their lovely garden and greenhouse. You can pick and eat fruits. Everything tastes sooo nice! Then the relaxing activities: you wanna play table tennis or basket, you got it. Wanna take a bike ride to explore the surroundings, you got it. Wanna chillax in the garden, spend your day sunbathing, reading, doing yoga, etc. you got it. Want to do day trips: Densus church, the oldest one in Romania (1300 years old) is 5 km away. The buffalo reservation in Hateg is 20 minutes away. The beautiful Retezat mountains, less then 1 hour drive. Are you into history? Then you can visit the Roman ruins at Sarmisegetuza, just 15 minutes away. It's a wonderful place, well worth exploring! We will definitely return!

Sewage stench, unfriendly staff
Reviewed By UrnaxelaWhile this is a cheap, basic hotel on Aurel Paunescu street, where I had no expectations beyond a room to sleep in for a week, It was a very regretful experience. The bathroom emanate a strong sewage smell that even if keeping the doors closed, managed to fill the room with the same odour that wakes you up at night and makes you sick. Wife started to have headaches after 3 days and feel sick, assuming from this strong sewage smell. Staff at reception was bored, depressed, disinterested, like after someone who worked long night shifts. I asked for the room to be cleaned after 3 days of getting no service. Ran out of soap, clean towels. After repeated asks, someone left two small round soaps and 3 towels In the room but have not cleaned the room. Left all the old soap packaging, garbage, etc room was not serviced. I heard other new guests complaining about the sewage one morning when I left and realized its not only my room thus I took the time ( first time for me) to provide comments.

Vila HD is the newest location in the heart of the city close to all important points of business or tourism. 18 Studios, each with a 6 sqm terrace, modern kitchen, bathroom and 1 presidential suite of 200 sqm situated on top floor. Breakfast is available upon charge and will be served in the intimacy of your room. WI-fi and parking are free.
Unfriendly night staff and poor comfort
Reviewed By MeA18-Very good prices and clean rooms. - 24/7 reception and free parking - Good WiFi -We felt judged and not welcomed the second we entered this hotel. The night staff was quite snobbish. We were happy to see that the day staff was way more sympathetic and friendly. - No de post/vegan options for breakfast, which we expected in a 4-star hotel. Only margarine, jam, bread and fruits would have been sufficient. This really is a bad point. -The mattress was less comfortable than a tent mattress and we could feel pieces of metal behind our backs. - Kitchen with almost no equipment (only cutlery and sauce pan). - Shower way too tiny and the quantity of soap samples enables to wash a quarter of a human body.

Reviewed By didu1I never had such a bad experience. The moment I arrived I was asked to pay for the whole stay, although I made a down payment for 3 nights a week before. We were basically asked not to touch anything without asking for approval first. Extremely bad experience, will never try it again.

Dissapointment at Cabana Retezat
Reviewed By AdrianSorinI spent two nights at this cottage and unfortunately the mattress was terrible as was the bathroom. The comfort of this location falls to one star or less while the price requested per night is for three or four star hotel.
