Reviewed By Anouk88travelGreat accomodation, spacious and comfortable room and kind host. Breakfast was fine, nice and fresh croissants. On our last day we requested an early breakfast because we had an early flight this was not a problem. It is a bit of a drive up and down, fairly steep as well. If you dont like driving up hill this might be an issue for you but for us it was no problem. About 20min to central Taormina, which is beautiful.

Central, strategic location - great stay and value
Reviewed By Lois131313In the centre of Taormina, in a quiet area with lots of places to eat out from restaurants, street food and cafés. The residence is well-organized, very clean with all you need to cook for yourself. Very comfy beds (mattress top in class) and air conditioning in every room. Staff are very helpful. If you are parking or have to stay, remember to call 30 mins before arriving. Great location, great stay, very good price.

Villa al Duomo enjoys an enviable position in the heart of Taormina in a peaceful and exclusive neighborhood off of the Piazza Duomo, a few steps from monuments and the main street. The 19th-century house, recently renovated, offers modern comforts with the latest technologies. It's located near "Porta Catania", the beginning of the main pedestrianized street, the central Piazza IX Aprile, the Ancient Greek/Roman Theater, the public car park and the cable car that transports you to the local beaches. The vacation house is ideal for couples that love having their own independence and tranquility, as well as families that would like to rent the entire house. All the rooms are comfortable and are equipped with climate control, heating, linen and hypoallergenic mattresses and cervical pillows. The apartment is also equipped with a Tablet PC, a dock for iPads/iPhones, a satellite TV with over 100 clear channels, free Wi-Fi, a kitchenette, a bathroom with a shower, and a shared garden filled with plants. From June 1st to 30th September, free entrance to Paradise Beach Club in Letojanni, a fantastic beach club with pool, garden, private beach, bar and restaurant. (transfer is extra cost).

Reviewed By GHUK29Centrally located haven within Taormina. The apartment was clean and nicely decorated. The garden, terrace and rooftop room were excellent. Very helpful host who went out of his way to make our stay a good one.. Would highly recommend staying here. The additional free use of a beach club and transfer were an added bonus

The Residence "Le Tartughe" offers 23 nicely decorated hotel apartments with all conforts (A/C, TV, washing machine, hairdryer, fully equiped kitchen, terrace, parking...). The apartments are located 30m from the beach in the charming fishing village of Letojanni, a few km away from Taormina.
Service? What service?
Reviewed By Nina S"20m to the closest market, 40m to the sea, big apartments, 45-50 m2 with separate bedroom, kitchen and living room". Oh yes, I expected much of our stay. Reception open only in the morning, cleaning once a week - yes, that's ok. But it wasn't. We arrived very late in the evening. A totally unhelpful and irritated looking young guy showed us our room but did not help with the luggage. When I asked about the air conditioning he answered that there is none, but I found the remote control myself and got it to work. There were seldom anyone at the reception, not in the morning nor any other time. An older nice lady (don't know if she was cleaning staff or what) told us in good English that the reception lady is having coffee and will be back in an hour or so.. Cleaning once a week - well... that's a big joke! After the 4th day I asked about the cleaning and got the answer that the room was clean when you arrived right? Yes, of course, no one comes to a dirty hotel room, right? But cleaning once a week means in this hotel that if you stay for "only" one week, no one will ever clean anything or bring you new towels or linen. They clean after you have left, there you go, once a week! I have always thought that once a week means during your stay. Of course the room must be clean when you arrive, that is common sense. But not at this hotel. Well, now I was happy I met the reception staff only twice, since we were the only ones that did not pay the horrible 100 euro deposit - because no one told us to. But that was not only a good thing, because when we wanted to check out, the cleaning lady (not the nice old lady but another) told us to come with her back to the apartment and forced us to take the garbage out. We had left the last garbage - not much, because we had no more plastic bags to use and I thought well, they can make the final cleaning when they haven't done anything during the whole week. It was quite embarrassing to carry out the garbage bin in front of all people (tourists) at the reception. Fortunately we had kept the apartment otherwise tidy, so the garbage was the only problem for them - we had taken garbage out many times earlier that week. I have stayed at lots of apartments in many different countries, but never ever have I experienced this kind of "cleaning". I have always been provided with linen and towels at least once a week and the cleaning lady has visited 1-3 times/week providing toilet paper and taking the garbage out, sometimes even washed the dishes even if that is not agreed! So do I recommend this apartment hotel? If you don't mind the total lack of cleaning and the totally unfriendly staff (except the old lady, let's call her grandma), sure, why not. The apartment was big, the terrace was big with a washing machine (you can wash your towels and linen yourself, ehe), the air conditioning worked just fine. But don't expect anything of the staff. It is a pity really, that the staff ruins everything, because with friendly staff and a little cleaning I really could recommend this hotel.

Reviewed By Pam TWe have stayed at Portorosa Residence many times over the years and have always received a warm welcome from Carmelo and Mariella. The apartment is very clean and comfortable. We usually stay at quiet times of the year and find it very relaxing. Beautiful bay in which to swim and take the sun. Many places to visit nearby and trips to the Aeolian Islands can be arranged. Car essential.

Quiet, clean and right by the beach
Reviewed By 676stephrWe came with a group that booked three rooms at this hotel. The front desk staff was very efficient in getting our rooms assigned. We got parking right at the front of the building. The elevator easily helped us get our bags up. The rooms had all the amenities needed - pull out sofas, extra pillows and blankets, patio furniture, a little kitchenette. The showers were amazing and the front patio offered an amazing view of the beach. It was a little tricky from our booking site to know whether we’d selected a continental breakfast or not. So look into that for clarification. A really comfy stay overall. And a great hotel if you’re looking forward to a quiet stroll along the beach path.

U can juse the pool bed the sun beds cost more than the beach beds ? so you would say it’s a hotel without pool beacause u pay for being there . It’s a on a hill if u have a weelchair it’s hard to go up there no footpaths only for cars . I would not advice famillies to take this hotel .
