The best available Condos to stay near Newcastle upon Tyne

April 24, 2023 Hector Krause

Once a shipbuilding city, Newcastle's flashier claim to fame is nightlife. Throw in a heap of premium restaurants serving foods from all over the world and it's no wonder young partiers choose to blow their hard-earned (or not-so-hard-earned) cash in Newcastle. While these amenities are certainly a draw for the hipsters and culture-seekers, it's the locals that make Newcastle a truly special place to visit. "Geordies," as they are often called, embody the pride, industriousness and resilient spirit of their city.

Bed so hard I had no sleep for two nights plus blue light you can’t switch off next to the bed. Room booked for three but only bedding for two on arrival late at night. Also double bed was put together the wrong way round so that the join ran across the middle not down - incredibly uncomfortable though fixed by second night. Neither sink nor bath draining on first night. Second night plumbing fixed but bathroom light now won’t switch off. Second night door fob didn’t work so had to go back to reception next door for a replacement. Really, how hard can all this stuff be? A bed you can sleep in and adequate plumbing are absolute basics. Next time I will book Premier Inn.

I had the absolute pleasure if it staying at the County Hotel appartments with a friend and our 2 children. The whole experience from beginning to end could not be faulted from the amazing staff (especially Marta) to the appartment and the food. The cleanliness was second to none and the facilities made it feel like a home from home. The children had an amazing time as did we ! Breakfast was top notch and we will definitely be going back in the near future for a longer stay. 10/10 keep up the good work.

Disappointing stay … !

Reviewed By Keylock7

As stated I booked a Luxury apartment, staff was very friendly and professional. No security deposit taken, maybe as I was travelling alone. As soon as I walked into the apartment, the walls were all scratched, living room blind was missing the cord so couldn’t put main blind down, bathroom was dated, no normal tv channels, even though I was on the top floor there wasn’t a key to look the door in the kitchen and the heating wouldn’t work when turned on, no bulb in living room lamp. Bed was very comfy, that was about it. Due to this stay, I probably wouldn’t use Dream Apartment's again.

Central location better than a hotel

Reviewed By pratuski

Pros: Apartment is at a convenient location. Spacious and clean Wi-fi speed is good Smart tv with Netflix Cons: Key pick up and drop off location is across the Newcastle main train station which was not known until the day of our stay. It added 20 minutes extra to our journey time because of the heavy traffic. Not convenient after 4 hours driving to Newcastle. Apartment shows age, bathrooms need some attention. Apartment was freezing cold as the heating system was off when we checked in. It took few hours to come to a comfortable temperature.

Great apartments

Reviewed By Steph H

We had booked this place before reading or seeing any reviews. I did look at the reviews prior to us going and it did make me abit nervous. However the apartments were great! I think they are fairly priced for what they are and where they are. Previous reviews stated about the area and the owner. Yes the area isn't as 'done up' as others or what some people are used to but we got a really warm response from anyone that we saw and met. As for the owners, they were great and couldn't have been any more hospitable. The apartments themselves were clean and spacious. Plenty big enough for us anyway. The only thing I would say is if you are walking from the station it is a good 20/25minute uphill walk, it definately got the heart rate going but other than that it was really easy to find and if you don't fancy the walk there was always a taxi or uber no more than 5minutes away. I would say they are better suited for groups rather than families. Overall had a really good experience.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Reviewed By Explorer57552290890

Me and my friends had originally booked the Quayside Apartments but on the day of check in an email informed us that we were staying in the Bigg Market apartments. We were disappointed and mislead as this wasn’t the venue we had booked. Upon arrival, the stairway to the apartment stunk. The smell was so strong and potent. The apartment was shabby and due a makeover. Poorly done paint jobs and chipped and damaged furniture.Facilities were poor. With only one half used toilet roll to accommodate 4 people. The lock on the door to our apartment had clearly been damaged prior. A replacement catch had been added on but didn’t serve any security to the door. Anyone could have easily forced entry to our apartment as the lock was so loose. Everything just felt tired and used. We left the apartment on a night out and returned at around 3am. Upon arriving back we had noticed that the slum like cleaning cupboard in the apartment entry stairway was open. When we peered in, to our disbelief there was a man asleep in there. Clearly intoxicated. We made attempts to call the apartment phone number we were provided with but had no response at all. Resulting in us calling the police to remove the man. As four young girls we felt extremely unsafe and just wanted to go home. We left early the following morning to get a train home. I would avoid this apartment block at all costs. It is dirty , poorly facilitated and extremely unsafe.
