Embassy Gardens great location but poor customer service
Reviewed By 744winaI stayed here for my first week from the 25th March 2022. I was very happy with the service and the area. Somethings from my room were not complete, for example having my own sofa which was of inconvenience when my guests arrived but my host made sure I was comfortable and promised to look after me the next time. I was happy to come back after my trip from Kumasi. However everything went down hill. Room was disorganised, broken curtains, bed made was incomplete, low/no wifi. Ceiling mould and damp. Made a compliant in which the maintenance team attended and informed me they were trying to gain access in the afternoon but no one was in. Bear in mind I had not received any phone calls or messages about this. Furthermore, I explained the room is no fit condition to be receiving guests and should be fixed first, this was not a matter of completing it in the afternoon that I checked in! Rubbish! One of the workers agreed and also made it known to the maintenance team she had been complaining about this room for a while. They moved me to a temp room for the night. With weak/very limited wifi, some stained walls, broken shower, sticky toilet bin lid and the toilet making loud and long flushing noises. I moved in total four times. They also gave me a room with stained bed sheets and scaffolding in which workers would be walking across my balcony. With the help of my old host and a nice lady, I got a lovely apartment. The host, required payment but did not want to do an online bank transfer, did not have a card machine. So I paid via World Remit money in which money was taken out of my account but her transactions was not cleared. She wanted me to pay again, in which I told her I will not be paying twice, she will have to wait until the refund is cleared. I had to request for a refund (took 3 working days), was also being chased for full payment for the moulded room. House keeping forgot to lock my room. At this point I was fed up. I asked for some negotiation in having a late check out as my flight departed late at night and with everything I had dealt with before, this was by passed and not even considered. I was then charged the highest exchange rate which meant i was paying more (they say different agents use different exchange rates). This meant I was given the host/agent nearly £94 extra which is around about/over 800 GHC. For all the lack of customer service, sympathy and them always chasing me for payments like I was a criminal. I will not be coming back again! I honestly wish I left my experience at week one, rather than returning back to end my stay in Ghana. If you want a modern place , great location/pool side views, lots of tourists etc, stay there. I expected way more for up-keeping and maintenance. Highly disappointed with round two stay at Embassy Gardens.

Reviewed By nathan89Lovely and clean accommodation not too far from Accra and Tema. Staff very friendly, helpful and attentive. Thank you Winnie and Kes for your assistance. Lodge is local to amenities and shopping mall. Access to Internet and TV was very limited.

This is my home away from home. I live on the outskirts of Accra so to avoid the heavy traffic I will stay overnight because the location is close to all the shopping and dining that I enjoy.

The rooms are clean and well equipped with aircon and TV, and the bathrooms are newly installed! In addition to a well-stocked fridge, the reception sports very friendly and trained staff who make sure that you feel welcome and get access to the free wifi. Very reasonable pricing which inspires to stay longer! I loved every moment there and will make it my base for every future visit to Accra. 2 minutes off the busy Spintex Road in Accra, a mere 10km from the airport - and once you leave the airport, you will understand why the transfer sounds expensive in comparison to the room price. But save yourself the stress and book this transfer! For longer stays, you can rent a Royal German apartment, which are here on Tripadvisor too.

Reviewed By prentice6756Good place to stay if you’re not in need of 4 or 5 star service. The staff are very nice and the rooms are the perfect size for any accommodation you may need. With that said room service is non existent unless you ask for it daily. This includes asking for soap, shampoo, and towels. Just know they may be out of liquid soap when you ask.

Horrible Terrifying Encounter With Owner
Reviewed By mothergirlWe booked this place through United Airlines Hotels program using our MileagePlus Rewards points. We got to the place and the owner Kwesi Affum himself was at the reception. He said he had no record of our booking so we showed him our reservation with the reservation number. He refused to look at the confirmation number and rather informed us that he had rooms available for us if we will pay him cash. This was night time around 8:00pm. Kwesi Affum refused to honor our paid confirmed reservation and sent us away. The man is very unethical and was only interested in demanding more cash in addition to what he will be paid by United. We refused to pay extra cash for our 2 nights stay. We told him we will rather go stay at another hotel and we left. Fortunately for us we had a car and knew the city so we left with all our luggage and instead found another accommodation. We called United hotels that same night, the customer service person put us on hold and contacted Kwesi Affum at his property. He confirmed that he will not honor our reservation and that he wanted cash from us. United hotel promised to relocate us to another property but it was almost midnight and they hadn’t so we stayed at a place we found on our own. Please never stay at this seedy place, although it is located in a good neighborhood, the property grounds itself is very weird when you enter the gate. There are better apartments and 4 star hotels such as Alisa Hotel, North Ridge, in the immediate vicinity. During this trip we used MileagePlus points to book a better hotel in the most affluent neighborhood in Accra, Airport, and we never had a problem with our reservation. Please save yourself the pain and emotional hurt this man will inflict on you. Don’t go there.
