Edinburgh’s neighborhoods developed as the city did. Originally its heart lay in the alleys and cobbled streets of the Old Town, below the castle. Then, in the late-18th century, the residential focus shifted north to a huge planned Georgian New Town. That’s now become the city’s business center, while visitor attractions and nightlife have become fairly evenly shared between these two central districts. Around them, a ring of residential districts now house most of those living in central Edinburgh. Though less good for sightseeing, these neighborhoods are just as busy and typified by thriving restaurant scenes and large parks.

20 modern and stylish apartments with a range of studio, 1 and 2 bedroom options in a historical building in New Town’s Thistle Street. Guests in north-facing apartments will benefit from fantastic views from the upper floors over the Firth of Forth.
The website claims the bed is a "queen" size, but it's actually a double bed. It's also quite uncomfortable. Housekeeping service is only every other day. On a positive note, the front desk staff is very nice. The hotel is also in a great location with plenty of restaurants nearby.

From city to tranquillity, in just a few steps. This is Eden Locke – a peaceful haven for sleeping, working and living, minutes from Edinburgh’s main sites. Set behind a grand Georgian façade, Eden Locke has just 72 apartments making it our most intimate Locke location. But what it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in style and beauty. Settle into your own meticulously designed apartment. Soak up the laid-back atmosphere of our living space, with its lush, leafy plants and soft tropical colour palette. And feel free.
This is a unique hotel due to the inroom facilities. Where else can you find an inroom washer/dryer? Since we stayed here in the middle of our trip my wife was able to wash five loads of clothes at no cost since the hotel provides the laundry soap for free! The area has a number of clubs and restaurants just a few steps out the front door, a great location for younger travellers. The hotel contains a small restaurant with a limited menu that was handy for getting a continental breakfast.

The Adagio Edinburgh Royal Mile benefits from an ideal location. The Aparthotel is situated in the city centre on the famous Royal Mile, with many restaurants, shops and historic buildings to explore. The Holyrood Palace and Edinburgh Castle are only a short walk away, with Waverley train station accessible by a 5 minute walk. The Aparthotel provides 146 new and fully equipped apartments, from stu
I used my Accor membership to book this for our 5-day stay in Edinburgh. The location is very accessible to both the Edinburgh Castle and the Holyrood Palace as well as all the historic landmarks between these two royal residences. Booking and check-in was easy. Rooms are large and complete with all the amenities like microwave oven, refrigerator, kitchen equipment, coffeemaker, cutlery, etc. Unfortunately, the kitchen towel had coffee stains (not too clean), the tissue box was empty, and we were not provided with bathtub mats for the very slippery tub. We like staying in aparthotel because it makes us save on breakfast fare. We’re light breakfast eaters.

We finally had family come for a visit, as we don't have enough space in our flat we found this gem not far from us to accommodate them. We booked directly and Dorota was very helpful with any questions we had about the apartments, we ended up booking a two bedroom apartment which had a king-size bed and two single beds this was ideal for 2 adults and a 4 year old. All towels and bedding were provided, and the kitchen was fully equipped. They had a great stay and we will be booking the next group coming for a visit shortly.

Spotless apartment with everything you could need. Brilliant location, fantastic response when we struggled to get in to the apartment. Tesco express a couple of minutes walk down the street for essentials. Loved the extra touches such as dressing gowns and slippers.

Four of us sat in the conservatory with a great view over the sea. We had a lovely lunch, the fresh fish and chips were perfect and good to be able to choose large or smaller fish to allow room for a dessert, can recommend the red velvet cheesecake served with ice cream and cream also the apple pie and custard was good too as were the beers. The staff were attentive and friendly would definitely recommend The Rockville. Plenty free parking on the main road at the hotel and so close to Portobello prom and the beach.

It is a beautiful appartement with sight on the castle and close to the old town and at the beginning of New town. It is a luxerous appartment, new and the furniture, kitchen and finishing was excellent. It was also very clean. We had a problem with the safe (empty batterij), after a call they immediately helped us. Top located, high Class appartment. Without an elevator! (we were at 3th Floor)

Opened in Summer 2013, the St Andrew Square Apartments provide a great central base from which to explore the city. In the bustling East End, the property is just a 2-minute walk from Waverley Railway Station and places you on the doorstep of everything that central Edinburgh has to offer.
The apartment itself was lovely. It is in a fantastic location, so close to train, bus, and shops. However, it was such a shame that the booking management company were completely incompetent and totally uncontactable. Not only did they give us an incorrect code to get into the block, but they had a completely wrong details for us, they thought that a different couple were staying! Lucky for us, there was a person who works in the block that was having his lunch in KFC next door and asked us if we needed help. If he wasn’t there, I can’t see how we would ever have got in.

A superb new addition to the Destiny Scotland portfolio, these stylish modern apartments are located in the Broughton Area in the East End and within easy walking distance to the Playhouse & Princes St. All apartments have open-plan living/kitchen, FreeView TV channels, Free WIFI.
Yes four flights of stairs to the top floor is good exercise, but the gain is a large stylish studio/mezanine apartment. Do treat yourself to the Chippy across the road. I do hate the requirement for a minimum of 200 characters in the review!!!!!
