Reviewed By upthebraesWe had a memorable time at Pension Vasko. It's a beautiful place with warm and friendly people. Good food and and wonderful views of the mountains. You can walk out the pension and into the mountains for a day full of walking.

Family run b&b, you get about what you pay for
Reviewed By abailsThis is a decent, family run b&b, but do not expect anything special. Good points were that all was clean, the beds comfy, the breakfast was really nice, the owners friendly and the location close enough to the local slopes (walking distance 10-15 minutes). On the opposite our apartment for four, and especially the bathroom, was too small, so we struggled to dry our skiing gear plus towels plus anything else getting wet in the snow. As the rooms where then quite cluttered with drying stuff they where not particularly inviting... The WiFi speed was a joke, streaming was very difficult. We booked half-board (dinner) which was convenient as we could stay in after a day skiing, but the food became a bit boring after a few days and it could have been better and varied. The most annoying was all the little things which could be fixed with very little money or time, e.g. no fixture for the shower head, so you have to hold it all the time - very annoying; the kitchen sink clashes with the cupboard door, so you have to lift the sink to open the door; on the day of departure with loads of new snow a very relaxed landlord who did only clear the snow of the parking lot and private road after highlighting that we need to leave on time at 9.30! - it was then done in 20 minutes etc. etc. etc. Keep in mind that the parking lot is 50 meters up a bit of a steep private road - not a problem in summer, but can be tricky with a bit of snow around and a not so enthusiastically cleaning landlord... We did not expect anything terrific, but where still disappointed mainly due to the lack of attention to details and customer care. Not all bad, but a lot of room to improve.

Reviewed By Martina HStrávili sme tam tri dni. Bývali sme v apartmáne na prvom poschodí, s dvomi izbami. Vybavenie na jednotku, čistota na ešte väčšiu. Pekné, útulné, jednoduché, k dispozícii televízor, chladnička, mikrovlnka, kanvica, sporák a dostatok riadu. Postele pohodlné. Všetko pekne zladené, dekorácie... Proste pekné bývanie.

Cabin Under the Mountains is a brand new building that has been built in a traditional wooden and stone style. Our bedrooms are designed to be very cosy and comfortable with en suite bathroom with shower, and free wi-fi available in each room and public areas. We have twin rooms available and twin rooms with an option of extra bed. We are also able to provide baby cot if you request it. The price does include half board. Breakfast are served buffet style. We are happy to offer vegetarian and vegan dinner options as well.

Reviewed By zhoolikWe’ve stayed twice here. Great location outside of a village. Beautiful views. The Doyles are helpful and warm hosts. It’s a new and crisp wooden pension. They have plans to expand with other amenities. There is a trail leading to the elevated wooden walkway and tower on the peak. The trail is a 55 minute and 900 ft climb that even children can make to the Chodnik.

GOOD BEER FOR SURE!

This is the only place in Zdiar where You can taste special Zlaty Bazant no.73 edition and drink always fresh classic Zlaty Bazant "10". In other places the prices are far more higher or you wont get the "king of slovakian beers". Its such a shame that most popular and tasty slovakian beer is becoming rare at villages and cities as well. Zlaty bazant is...zlaty bazant no doubts 'bout that. Was and will be - at least to me - the best Slovakian beers!

Excellent service
Reviewed By MartinG1984A beautiful accommodation run by nice people. The room looked like new and it was comfy, with mountain views. The wellness is open in the evening, it is clean and features 2 saunas, a "salt cave" and whirlpool. Breakfast was unexpectedly generous for this type of accommodation. Bar prices are more than reasonable. Provided crib for our child. All in all - we will be happy to come back.
