Lovely apartment with great views

Reviewed By G5159LMdavidw

This is a small family-owned apartment block, with just five different apartments, and it does have a lovely family feel to it. Our apartment (Africa) had full balconies on two sides, with great views over the Bay of Naples. It was clean, modern, and well-equipped - the one thing it could have done with was a large sofa. On site there is a bar and breakfast area, and a rooftop restaurant (not open when we were there). It's on one of the main roads in Vico Equense but noise was not an issue. Federico and his family were extremely helpful, and arranged transfers from and to the airport for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I would highly recommend the apartments. PS Don't believe the reviewer who said there was no steep climb to the beach - from wherever you are in Vico Equense, and whichever beach you go to, you are going to have a steep climb down and a steep climb back up!

An itinerary that combines dream and reality.

Beautiful views!

Reviewed By lwainwright19

My husband and I stayed here for 3 night and it was absolutely beautiful! We were looking for an affordable place near Sorrento with great views and we found it. The room was spacious and clean and modern. It's a very small family-run hotel with just a few rooms, but the views from the balcony were fantastic! Lovely view of the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius. My husband commented that he thought it was the most beautiful views of any hotel we've stayed at. Breakfast was yummy as well. Be advised that communication could be difficult with many of the staff/owners unless you speak Italian. One individual did speak English and was very helpful and friendly but wasn't always on site. On one occasion I did not have sufficient Italian to communicate what was needed, and they called the English speaker on the phone to have her speak with me and sort things out, which was much appreciated. Also be advised that there's not much within walking distance (plus I wouldn't necessarily advise walking on the narrow winding road without sidewalks in many places), so you'll need a car to go out for dinner, etc. This did not detract from the overall experience though. We were thrilled with our stay here and would not hesitate to come back.

Lampara B&B

Ci torneremo sicuramente, consigliatissimo!

Outstanding view and generous hospitality

Reviewed By QueenCherryUK

Absolutely amazing stay. Astonishing view, only bettered by that from the top of Vesuvius itself. We loved spending evenings on the terrace. It was just warm enough to have breakfast outside once too. The room was clean on arrival and cleaned multiple times during our stay. It had plenty of storage space and was comfortable to be in. The room had a fridge, which came with some free water and juice, plus there is a supermarket around the corner, open until 8pm. The shower was good and the hair dryer was convenient. Free wifi worked well. On our one rainy morning, we kept sitting at the table in the corner of the room, looking out the window at the view of Ischia. Garden on the Sea was a relaxing place to be and Vico Equense made an excellent base for Pompeii, Oplontis, and Mt Vesuvius. Our hosts were perfect. Each morning they served us breakfast and made sure we were OK, then let us do our own thing. Alfonso was around when we needed him for general tourist questions and he kindly endured me practicing my few words of Italian. The breakfasts were terrific. We stayed for 5 nights, so we tried the European cooked breakfast (my vegetarian version came with local Sorrento tomatoes, eggs and cheese) and also the Dolce breakfast (a delicious selection of proper local pastries to share). Just tell Alfonso which type of breakfast you would prefer the night before. Both came with juice, yogurt, and the most delicious hazelnuts and almonds we have ever tasted, as well as cappuccino made by Alfonso. It was without doubt the most generous breakfast we have ever been served in a B&B or small hotel. Breakfast was served from 8 – 9:30, but Alfonso invited us to use the room any time, and we availed of the toast with nutella or jam as well as the selection of teas, hot chocolate, and coffee. There is another guest room, so there was one other table in the breakfast room, but at a good distance away. Between the temperature check, social distancing and the immaculate hygiene, it was beyond my Covid-19 safety expectations. The location is up steep hill, but my goodness the walk is worth it. We feel so lucky to have stayed here.

Agriturismo Castanito

Wonderful little farm in the middle of the most beautiful Italy

Reviewed By Timo K

We (2 adults & 1 child) spent 5 days in Agriturismo Castanito in the beginning of August. It was the most pleasant stay and we felt almost like the part of the family there. In the beginning the really narrow streets up there were a bit frightening but were got used to them quickly. All the food was really good and came from their own yard. Even liquors per digestivo were home made. Il Capo's dishes left us with a warm memory of "la cucina italiana". The pool was very nice and very clean, same applies to the whole farm and all premises. As we were on a real farm, some level of tolerance of sounds of a farm was required :). The roosters and donkeys made sure we get to the breakfast in time in the mornings. I can warmly recommend this place for anyone interested in agriturismo places. The atmosphere and warmth of the personnel was exceptional and tranquility of the neighborhood was very relaxing. The fifth star would have been granted if there were air conditioning and a mini bar / refrigerator in the room. During our visit it was extremely hot and that made the nights somewhat restless without A/C.

Heerlijk comfortabel verblijf gehad

Reviewed By 29818

Enorm vriendelijke en gastvrije eigenaren. Het is een superschone comfortabele B&B. Wij hadden kamer Zaffiro.
