Reviewed By Richard LStayed overnight in August 2019. It was a very pleasant surprise. Very clean hotel with nice rooms and amenities. Hotel staff were very helpful and pleasant to work with. Close to town and several restaurants very close by. We would definitely stay here again

Decent hotel at a fair price
Reviewed By 341ericsCity Garden Hotel is in a good location south of the main hotel district. It is close to the ocean and this the seafood markets. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the price was fair. Breakfast delivered to your room was a nice touch as well.

Good location, old hotel
Reviewed By RuthRenataOnly worth the location. The rooms are big but old and dirty. Last time i stayed, the water was down tge whole morning so we had to wait for several hours to get a shower. Tha family rooms are newer than the standard rooms.

Rooms are well lit up with lights and all have windows to give natural fresh air if required and the washrooms are spacious and supplied with water heaters that generates adequate water pressure shower. Near to the town centre and ample parking place for travelers driving vehicles. Wifi are available with no extra charge and towels provided are clean and of very good quality. No smoking smell in rooms as cleaning are done efficiently by well trained workers. Staffs are polite and helpful. Amenities provided are sufficient and in good conditions. TV sets are in good order and air conditioners are cold and well maintained. Drinking water in bottles form for room use are supplied as complementary. Beside this good room feature, the hotel also on the ground floor house a good Chinese seafood restaurant and spa facilities like steaming and sauna including foot reflexology and massaging. Highly recommend for staying there but must book early as demand by the visitors are also high.

Well maintained, quality furnishing, decent breakfast, good value
Reviewed By Lily WStay in Deluxe room, spacious, ample solid wood furnishing, bed, sliding wooden door curtain gave a antique warm feel, bathtub was a treat, many newer hotel wouldn't have bathtub for RM150 per night, marble bathroom floor and sinktop, looks wee b it aged but functions well. Personally for environmental friendliness, it is better to maintain quality aged furnishing in hotel rather than continuously dismantling older furnishing to change to new ones which likely to be of less quality, like no longer solid wood or marble. Lobby and breakfast area also have marble floor, lavish chandelier, wood frame walls. Breakfast though limited choice was quite tasty. Just one suggestion: please provide milk for coffee rather than just using creamer pack.

So greedy, hotel room charges also the same, they will charge extra for change type of bed(twin to king size), the funniest experience was the extra charge for half boiled eggs during breakfast, it seems to be not in one package breakfast, many hidden charges, so uncomfortable, if you want to book a room the best way is via " online" booking, walk in is not advisable and more expensive choice, rooms was standard. But there is many hotel rooms in Tawau which is more cheaper & comfortable, always check for hidden charges, Tawau Hotels practicing that style of business.

Clean and comfortable
Reviewed By Hazel OThe room was pretty big and the lack of window wasn't a problem. There could have been a few more amenities. There was tea/coffee/hot water in the lobby, but not in the room. The bed was comfortable. The air con and shower worked well. My only complaint is that there are swallows nesting nearby and they twittered incessantly.

The rooms are comfortable with all of the essentials such as air con, a safe and ensuite bathrooms. The front counter staff were very friendly and helpful. Good location near to bars and eateries.
