Reviewed By Susan GMy wife and I spent one night here on July 2, 2016 and we had a very poor experience. The room was booked by my uncle a few weeks earlier as we had travelled from overseas and were planning a weekend in Tropea. Upon arrival at about 8:30pm, all seemed well- room was clean and had the amenities we needed, however we quickly found that the air conditioner remote was missing. I went down to inform the owner, but found the office closed. My aunt and uncle who speak better Italian than I do also experienced the same thing. They contacted the owner who informed us that the remote must be requested. I found this very odd since the temperatures were well over 30 degrees. She eventually brought the remotes. The next morning, when we went down for breakfast, we were informed that our reservation did not include breakfast. Apparently the package that we had purchased was for the room only. My uncle did not have any knowledge about this and tried to clarify the matter with the owner who was insistent. The owner told us that there was only enough breakfast for the paying guests and that she did not have enough for another 4 people. We found this all very confusing. My uncle tried to reason with the owner but she was very insistent that she couldn't offer us breakfast. Rather than start an argument, we left, informing her that I would be writing a poor review. I have a copy of the receipt and the price we paid was in line with the booking.com web site, so I don't understand how our package didn't include breakfast. The mere fact that this became an issue is the reason I gave it a 1-star. The matter could have been settled with a simple apology and a coffee and croissant - obviously customer service is not a strong suit here. For the cost of 4 coffees and 4 croissants, this lady upset 4 guests and earned a very poor review. To the owner of the B and B, I ask you "what does the second B stand for?" To prospective travellers I warn you to confirm that breakfast is included in the bed and breakfast rate. It's a pity how some small business owners are so focused on the quick buck, they fail to see the big picture. Buyer beware!!

Great value for money, friendly staff
Reviewed By AnnaSch12The accomodation is quite basic, but the rooms are very clen and and bed are comfy. The cleaning staff changes sheets and towels very often. If you happen to travel to Santa Domenica without a car they will drive you to a beach and back whenever needed - very pleasant surprise. The breakfast is Italian style - sweet croisants and cakes daily, takes a while to get used too, but very tasty. The staff is very friendly and despite communication issues (nobody except Renata, the manager speaks English) everything went smoothly and they did everything they could to make us happy.

Reviewed By Tina LAgriturismo Ruralia is an awesome place to be. Good location, close to Tropea and to many beautiful beaches. It has a beautiful view on the Tyrrhenian Sea. We had an awesome time - good food, beautiful nature, swimming pool and very nice personnel. The owners are very welcoming and always willing to give advice on what to see, they help with car rentals and excursion bookings. It was one of the best vacations ever, such a relaxing place.

Cosy place,very quite
Reviewed By Luca CThis place is perfect for couples ona budget. It's a bit hidden and hard to find but once you there it's a little gem. There are few rooms and they are pretty much all with "seaview". The rooms are small but very clean and well presented with a nice bathroom. You need a car to drive to the city centre. Breakfast is very nice, it's buffet style and you get a very nice view. Best quality for the price you pay!!!

Ogni girno è presente Maria simpatica e pronta a soddisfare ogni esigenza e richiesta per informazioni sul posto. Colazione servita all'esterno col tempo buono con il necessario con ottime brioches croccanti. Parcheggio libero di fronte nella stradina un poi' dissestata. La camera fronte giardino è forse unpo' esposta al passaggio degli altri clienti . Per migliorare il livello dell'offerta suggerirei di aggiungere un piccolo armadio in camera, un ripiano all'interno della doccia e sotto lo specchio del bagno nonchè delle tende coprenti per la privacy. Di fronte al bb in pochi minuti potete raggiungere la spiaggia della Scalea ( appunto cè una lunga scalinata fattibile se siete allenati anche un poco) con cui raggiungere una bella spiaggia incastonata tra le rupi( la mattina è in ombra) io sono rimasto solo per ore .. ottimo per lo snorhìkelling. Il prezzo a quanto pare si dimezza dopo la metà di settembre. Tropea è bellissima ..ma fuori stagione mi raccomando. A pochi minuti a piedi cè un supermercato anzi due con la Conad ed un ristorante .

After a good start very disappointed, daughter was rude & unprofessional!
Reviewed By nieikWe couldn't find it because there were no signs. After we called the nice owner picked us up She was very sweet! Nice place and great view! A pity that there was no warm water. After someone came it worked sometimes, but the next day it was cold again. We had a queen bed, while we asked for twin beds in the booking. When we asked for an extra sheet the daughter said we have to pay €10.- for the laundry, seperate beds for €20.- per day(!)... Also we were not allowed to use the sofabed in the living. I did not understand because we asked for seperate beds in the booking since we are not a couple. When I said that I find this very strange her answer was "You can go to another hotel"... Of course we did NOT feel welcome at all, we also decided not to mention the cold water once more so we showered with cold water. Also the daughter tried to accuse me of something when I gave back the blanket that we did not ask for (because we did not want to pay even more). This ruined our stay and we made sure not to spend time there during the day. Probaly she will lie again in the comment on this review because she did also when we were there. What a shame after a nice start!! The placd is nice and the owner (mother) too, but the daughter was very rude.

Due to its location it is possible to reach only 20 meters, bars, bakeries, shops, agencies, restaurants, including the "Greedy" just 10 meters from whom we have an agreement for meals, at a cost of only 15 per meal, 00 euro. The B & B (Bed and Breakfast) offers a free scheduled shuttle service to Baia di Riace one of the most beautiful beaches in the area, where it has beach service. This structure is suitable for those looking for a cute and comfortable environment and love to spend a holiday away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The rooms are classic. The furnishings of the rooms were built by hand and each room is named after the quality of the wood used eg construction and color of the furniture (White, Oak, Cherry). Contribute to further embellish the rooms with the curtains carpets and chairs. Finally, the rooms are equipped with private bathroom, shower (White Oak), bath shower (Cherry), all have air conditioning, fridge and a balcony where you can find the chairs, table and chairs.

Good choice for your vacation
Reviewed By ZuzanaCZRomero was a good choice. Located in the heart of the village, 5 minutes drive from Tropea. Spacious rooms, very clean and with nice terrase. We stayed 4 nights, were asked to change the room after 2 nights due to some reorganization. We first did not like the proposed alternatives but at the end the owner made her best to give us a room we liked. Breakfast is standard italian, but dont forget to visit the butcher in the house selling nice grilled chicken and good choice of wines - as a bonus, he speaks good English!! In the same house you can also meet a German lady living there for about 13 years who organizes trekking tours in that area. Definitelly something very handy given that maps and guides are non existing.
