As a solo traveller, I especially appreciated the kitchenette, and the option of having a picnic style lunch/dinner on the balcony of my room. And Marcello and Pierluigi were super kind and helpful. Highly recommended.

Reviewed By robertcQ1054SYDifficult to find! If you come from Naples, turn right into Melfi after the petrol station, then four or five times again in a row (there are no road signs). When you pass the excellent restaurang La Villa (extremely good eating, best value for money ever in Italy) you turn right again some hundred meters after the restaurant. Big rooms, nice views. Very nice and helpful owner. The city of Melfi has a well worth seeing castle and the interesting grott church of Santa Margarita.

Great Location
Reviewed By AaronPTravelerMy wife and I arrived in Melfi after an overnight flight from Toronto to Naples and while I am used to quick time zone changes my wife unfortunately is not so was very tired. We spent a little time trying to find the exact location of the B&B and while sign posted on the street it still leaves a little mystery of where you should park and in which building is the B&B. I would suggest you take a once around on Google Maps so that you know the street location and once you have this there is a courtyard which you can drive into with ample parking just ask the owner which spot is theirs. Once we rang the owners of our arrival Antonio and his wife showed up to check us in which was a breeze but be prepared for a couple of flights of stairs to traverse and Antonio to insist that he take the bags to the room we split the difference and I took mine with camera gear and Antonio took my wife’s bag. The B&B is in an old building, but the interior has been redone and is very modern in a sensible Italian style. The stairs are worth every step as it leads you to a beautiful balcony terrace with seating for at least 8 people and a fantastic view of the castle. Antonio is extremely helpful and will arrange anything you are interested to do in Melfi or the surrounding area. I had discussed in Google translate Italian where the best spot for photography would be and he was very willing to come at 5:30am and take me to a great sunrise on the city location, it took a little persuasion on my part to convince him that I had this covered and would prefer to explore on my own. We had the room that is outside the main building on the terrace which I would highly recommend for its quietness as well the great view. The best part of this stay was the ability to sit outside and take in the night view of the castle with a bottle of prosecco we procured around the corner at a local pizzeria after our supper. I awoke very early to take some night shots of the castle and the city which was very easy from this location given the terrace castle view location and the short walk to the castle from the B&B. I returned when the sun had risen and my wife and I enjoyed a very nice breakfast with more than enough selection of sweets and meats to satisfy most palates. The coffee was great and lots of juice available it was a very typical Italian breakfast offering and we left very sated and energized for our morning travels to Venosa. The checkout was easy and simple but be aware to bring cash for payment, Antonio once again took my wife’s bag to the car to help us load up. We would highly recommend a stay here for anyone visiting in Melfi as the location can’t be beat and the terrace is the icing on the cake.

The B & B is located in the Camellias new town Federiciana Melfi (PZ), a city rich in history and tradition. We take care of the Guest with heat, so that you feel at home. Rooms are simply furnished and functional.

Comfortable bed, great shower,fantastic breakfasts that also served as lunch-waffles or pancakes with fruit, sandwiches with meat and peppers, croissants and sweet pastries,cappuccino. Magnificent. The owner, his son and neice did everything to make our visit a success. Thanks to all. We liked being 2 km outside of the historic center which is very tightly packed.

Reviewed By MequonTravelersThis was our second visit to Casa Laviano. We stay here when visiting nearby hometown of our family. Great location in Melfi with very large, elegant rooms and common area. Innkeeper does not speak much English but easy to communicate with. He makes an excellent breakfast - eggs, cold cuts, cheese, fruit and sweets. Has a lovely rooftop garden for evening drinks. Very pleasant stay.

She not only makes you feel comfortable at her rental, meeting you on your arrivals she makes sure you are comfortable with the town, giving you directions to shops,etc. I highly recommend this pensione to all, especially if you are not very well spoken in the Italian language. As an example, when we were set to leave for Rome, the company that was to provide transportation sent a car that was to small. Allessandra stayed with us and contacted another company arranged our needed transportation and continued to stay until we were on our way, almost two hours. Beautiful family that I can not thank enough

Reviewed By Anna CIl Tetto was a pleasent surprise: very clean, room, beautiful building and great service. The price is also very good. Internet is a bit herratic but it’s a minor glitch. The staff is very helpful. We highly recommend the Tetto.
